Citroen Showcases the C4 Picasso eHDI 115
|   Thursday, June 20, 2013
The C4 is one of the prime models from Citroen at the moment considering the fact that it has seen the highest number of imports in the UK. This was reason enough for Citroen to design the new vehicle. There have been minor changes made to this vehicle since its introduction in the market since 1999, although any serious changes are yet to be made.

The Citroen C4 Picasso is a five seated eccentric MPV and the latest model could carry on similar design trends.
The most notable feature of the latest vehicle is undoubtedly the front section, complete with LED lamps, which gives the C4 Picasso, a space age look. There is however a certain level of drama with the way the Picasso has been designed and the character line has been cut deep into the lower section of the vehicle, alongside the body panels.

The interior is as unconventional as the exterior and the giant wind screen gives the cabin the feel of a helicopter canopy. Touch screen monitors have been placed within the cabin while the C4 is connected to a dedicated mapping device. Navigation is primary on this vehicle along with a range of other high tech gadgets. Citroen has installed most if it's talked about gadgets in this vehicle.

In other words, you can enjoy the infotainment features of the vehicle, without having to take your eyes off the road ahead. The panoramic sun roof also enhances the view from the interior while lending an environmental feel to the cabin. The Citroen C4 Picasso has been designed on the EMP2 platform designed by PSA Citroen Peugeot while minor modifications have been made to the chassis and other dynamics of the vehicle to enhance ride quality and comfort.

Although the roof line has been cut off by a small margin, interior space has not suffered. Quality of the parts and finish quality is high and this is in all probability, the best looking vehicle from Citroen so far. The vehicle draws power from a 1.6 liter eHDI engine displacing 115 BHP and Citroen reckons that this will be the best vehicle in their lineup. A smaller, 90 BHP displacing model will also be available.

The engine is quite refined in smooth areas which make it the perfect urban vehicle. However, you feel the pressure on the engine once uneven terrains begin to surface. The C4 Picasso does not travel well over hills and the engine starts to show signs of pressure. This is the sole reason Citroen is planning on introducing a higher capacity, 150 BHP displacing model of the Picasso by late 2013.

The center of gravity in the new C4 Picasso is lower than its predecessor and this enhances handling. The overall weight of the car is also down by 140 kg although this vehicle still faces occasional body roll. Steering isn't quite refined although it does a commendable job nonetheless. While the Citroen C4 Picasso is not a class leader, it is a decent product at its price range.
