Citroen Showcases the 2013 Model of the C3 Picasso
|   Thursday, February 07, 2013
Citroen has launched the C3 Picasso and contrary to popular belief, this vehicle is quite peppy and fun to drive. The 2013 version of the vehicle has just been showcased in the UK and customers seem to be quite impressed with what the vehicle has on offer. Although many people are under the impression that the C3 is the best looker in its class, in reality it sells as features the greatest amount of space in its category while being the cheapest.

The C3 features a total boot capacity of 1500 liters and is also cheaper than the Vauxhall Meriva and the Ford B Max.
However, neither the B Max nor the Meriva have been able to threaten C3's market dominance so far and hence the vehicle has faced no considerable threat in the market till now. The C3 Picasso however features exterior modification and is a totally new car to look at.

Starting with a new bumper, the vehicle features Daytime Running Lights along with fog lamps with interior changes and new color schemes. The equipment level also features an improvement since its predecessor. The 1.6 liter engine in the Citroen has been tuned to churn out more power. The same engine has been used on the Picasso and as a result massive performance upgrade is not expected.

The new engine displaces 113 BHP and is quite flexible and peppy. The C3 Picasso seems to keep the driver on the edge at all times and even though this vehicle does not resemblance a sports coupe, it provides decent value for money in its range. The dynamic gear ratio also enhances the driving dynamics of the vehicle and improves ride quality.

Citroen lacks precision and the C3 Picasso lacks basic detailing. Right from the exterior, carried forward to the cabin, precision is missing and the Picasso resembles a mass of metal brought and held together. The cabin is composed of a mixture of plastic and metal parts and there is no high quality feel of the parts. The interior upholstery is standard quality and there is no substantial upgrade over the parts used in its predecessor.

The general ride and handling properties of the vehicle is equivalent to its predecessor and there is not much room for surprise. The steering is very unpredictable and light weight while the suspension could have been better in most aspects. Torque steer is present and body roll is felt when the Picasso is dragged into corners quickly. Considering the price point, Citroen is offering bang for the buck and the price point is the positive aspect about the vehicle.

Traction is not up to the level and road grip is not confidence inspiring. The C3 Picasso has been designed on the lines of an MPV and body roll and control could have been enhanced for the better. Apart from the low quality of parts, the Citroen C3 Picasso is also quite uncomfortable to drive and occupy and as a result this is not the best in class, although it sure is the cheapest.
