Citroen set to roll out the revamped C5
|   Tuesday, November 27, 2012
Citroen has come up with a range of high performing yet efficient vehicles within the past couple of years and the Citroen C5 is a valid example of the car maker's ability to produce great cars for the budget. The all new C5 has received a minor external face lift and this makes the car a stunner, while giving it a whole new classy appeal and making it the range topper in all aspects.

The vehicle has an all new 2.2 liter diesel engine displacing 201 BHP lifted directly off the Peugeot 508 and this drives the C5 out of a mid range crisis faced by most vehicles.
The C5 is all ready to ward off space crunch form the all new rivals, the Ford Mondeo and the Mazda 6 with the new upgrades, the vehicle features DRL along with redesigned head lamps and this gives it a smart new look up front.

A new Techno Pack enhances the vehicle by giving it all ne 18 inch sports alloyed rims along with Sat Nav and other luxury features. The flagship model from Citroen is quite fuel efficient too and returns 47.9 MPG while emitting 155 g/km of CO2. Te C5 is priced 8,000 Pounds above its predecessor and this is due to the introduction of the engine upgrade along with the drive train and technological modifications.

The 1.6 liter diesel version of the C5 is more energy efficient however and returns 62.8 MPG while emitting 117 g/km. However, it lacks power and is not as fun to drive as Citroen's flagship model. The vehicle is definitely fast but no enough to be compared to its German or Italian cousins. The C5 is however big on space and that is a positive side to this car. Buyers have a huge faith in Citroen and the cars deliver what they promise.

Despite all its modifications, the C5 does not have anything new to offer, therefore recommending this vehicle for driving enthusiasts would be a waste of time. However, for family use this vehicle is potent as this is a great vehicle for cruising. However, Citroen should seriously consider upgrading this car and giving it an extra ounce of juice. The Citroen C5 is mainly used as rentals and this is mainly due to the withstanding capability of the vehicle.

This vehicle is placed as an aggressive touring vehicle rather than a range topper and as a result it is more practical than a BMW or Mercedes Benz in this segment. Priced at 28,495 Pounds, the C5 makes for a decent buy and it provides complete value for money. With a top speed of 144 MPH and acceleration to 60 MPH coming in around 8.3 seconds, the C5 is one of the best I the lot. The C5 could very well do with a four cylindered engine to give it the extra boost of power and if Citroen considers this as a viable upgrade in the future, sales are sure to improve in future.
