Citroen Reveals the C4 Cactus at Frankfurt This Week
|   Sunday, September 15, 2013
Citroen has unveiled a Concept vehicle this week at Frankfurt and although the basic features behind the designing of this vehicle are purely Citroen, it looks quite modest as compared to Concepts from Citroen. The additional air bumps on its doors are unique and Citroen claims that its inclusion will reduce chances of side panels getting damaged in parking lots. Although this vehicle is purely conceptual, Citroen claims that the C4 Cactus – which is up for a 2014 reveal – could feature this unique possibility.

The first look impression of this vehicle is quite varied and people are sure to confuse this with vehicles such as Mini Cooper. However, the C4 Cactus is larger and more refined than Mini but smaller and toned down than Land Rover's Evoque accordingly. This vehicle does not resemble Citroen in any form and that is an apparent reason why people seem to like it. Citroen is finally trying to break out of its mould.

The general body structure of vehicles from Citroen has changed over the years and this has its share of advantages as well as disadvantages. While Citroen is trying to woo audiences in the American and Asian markets with its vehicles, the regulars back home are not quite satisfied with the way their cars look.

Citroen however has devised a plan to work closely with both their European and global customers. The company has decided that their European vehicles will feature different body structures as compared to their general vehicle lineup. Citroen had showcased their general idea behind today's C4 Cactus back in 2007 and although a vehicle was not designed on its technology, basic concepts featured similarity.

Citroen says that the air bump design on this vehicle could find its way into other models quite soon if customers give a positive feedback on its design. Experts say that this car is one of the most elegant vehicles designed by Citroen so far but the exterior needs a lot more work if Citroen want to actually sell these cars. Citroen has also kept in mind, basic needs of its American customers and this vehicle has a range of cosmetic upgrades aimed at enhancing the general feel.

Citroen claims that the interior of the C4 Cactus is quite close to its actual production specimen. Use of digital expertise gives this car a whole new feel while it looks amazing overall. Citroen is still working on the digital parameters of this car and they are bound to make it to its production variant. Citroen could introduce a Cactus to both the C3 and the C4 if their concept is well appreciated in the market.

Citroen however confirms that this car is capable of returning 94 MPG and modern technology is the primary reason behind its massive fuel economy. Citroen wants to make its vehicles city friendly and the base dimensions along with its economic and efficiently powerful engines, renders these perfect for urban commuting. Citroen has recently revealed a video of this car in action.
