Citroen Announces the Pricing of the 2014 DS3 Racing Cabriolet
|   Saturday, July 20, 2013
Citroen is offering its range of Limited Edition DS3 Racing Cabriolets and each of these vehicles could set you back by £30,000. Citroen has confirmed that they will be manufacturing just 200 units of the car and will also showcase it at the impending Good Wood Festival of Speed. Citroen is currently gauging the demands of this car in the market and will determine the distribution pattern once things are set.

The DS3 Racing however does not feature a range of engine options and the car currently comes in just a 1.
liter petrol engine option displacing 202 BHP. This hatch back also has a single trim option and no customization is available from the factory. The body work on the hatch back has been reworked to give this car the cabriolet look although the basic dynamics remain unchanged.

Citroen has designed the DS3 Racing Cabriolet exclusively as it looks good and there are no plans of working on a full scale version of the same. The interior is however quite sporty and though the bespoke DS badges along with the complementary leather upholstery on the seats look good, they are unlikely to be carried forward to the production model of the car.

Citroen has not officially mentioned the figures but experts claim that the number of cabriolets should be close to 100 if Citroen wants to preserve the Limited Edition feel. Initial estimates accounting from demand also suggest that Citroen could consider shipping 100 units of the hatch back to the United Kingdom although the company is tight lipped about the situation at the moment. Citroen has taken on the likes of the big players in the segment such as the Fiat 500 cabriolet and Mini cabriolet and this should spice up the market segment eve more.

Insiders at Citroen claim that the United Kingdom is one of the biggest markets for the DS3 cabriolet and it should be a practical choice that a majority of the Limited Edition model is brought to the UK. Apart from Limited Edition models, Citroen has also showcased two models of the DS, both of which should do a promising task in the market.

Citroen is also eyeing the Chinese market and is working on measures to capture a chunk on the market. Citroen will be launching the DS3 Racing Cabriolet officially at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September and the first batch should reach customers fall 2014. This will bring a great change in the market and the hype is felt even now. The DS3 is a premium hatch back and the Limited Edition models should do justice to the car.

Although the technical details and specifications of this car are yet to be announced, experts have set up a certain standard in their minds which they expect that a car of this stature should fulfill. Overall, high expectations have been pinned up on the DS3 and the Racing Cabriolet is just an extended version of the car. Additions are also expected in the range by the end of 2014.
