Chinese Created Competitor To Tesla's Model S - The Youxia X
|   Saturday, August 08, 2015
A newcomer Chinese company, Youxia Motors showed its first product on four wheels called the Youxia X. The sports sedan has an enviable exterior, and forms plagiarized from other series car as expected. The Chinese say that the car is ready to be assembled in mass production and already has a price.

Now, if any of you remember the 80s US series Knight Rider, in which the hero David HasselhoffI was partnered with a reliable partner that was a car equipped with an artificial intelligence system called KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand), built on a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am.
This car had an armored body and could go at a maximum speed of 460 km/h, it could jump, and even break remote computers to print money and more.

The film was very popular at that time and some diehard fans are still left. One of them proposed to build the car from the past, but in a more modern vision. Xiuyuan Huang, a young 28 year old who founded the Youxi Motors company in 2014 just built the sedan with a team of 50 people. The company name actually is the name of the show.

The Youxia X premiere took place in Shanghai, where the car was presented as a competitor to the Tesla Model 3, a cheaper model that will be launched by the Americans in the near future. The sedan is still a prototype. It seems that it mimics the grille of the Tesla Model S, the headlights shape look like the Maserati Ghibli ones, and the rear lights look like the Lexus NX concept.

But Huang Xiuyuan ensures that the serial version will look exactly as the movie and will be sold at the end of 2016.
The model is unique, through the false radiator grille, in which a holographic display is integrated to play back the legendary red light or the company's logo and other images that the owner would like.

Inside we again find ourselves looking at Tesla's Model S. The steering wheel is similar, as well as the central display measuring 17.3 inches (17 inch on the Tesla Model S). However, the most interesting thing is the sound system that can play in the passenger compartment sounds from different cars with powerful engines such as the Ferrari 488 GTB, Ferrari Sergio, LaFerrari, or Jaguar F-TYPE! An ingenious idea for those who are bored with the quietness of electric cars.

Youxia X is powered by an electric motor that develops 348 hp and 440 Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. Like the Tesla Model S, Youxia X will be provided with battery packs with different capacity: 40 kWh, 60 kWh or 85 kWh. They will give ranges of 220 km, 330 km and 460 km respectively. The 85 kWh version can be recharged from a supercharger in 30 minutes for a range of 270 km.

The series production of the Chinese electric vehicle will begin in 2016, and its cost, depending on the battery capacity will vary from 200.000 to 300.000 yuan (32.000 to 48.000 dollars).
