Caterham to Launch an Entry Level Version of the Seven
|   Thursday, June 13, 2013
Caterham has plans to launch the cheapest version of the Seven yet. This vehicle is expected to be priced close to £17,000 and will be known for its excessive light weight structure, a characteristic property which defines any vehicle from Caterham. This model will feature a Euro 6 compliant engine that makes it performance friendly along with fuel efficiency and this is a deadly combination if adjusted.

This announcement comes in just as Caterham completes the fortieth year of the Seven.
This vehicle is expected to be completed by autumn 2013 and the first batch of vehicles should reach customers by year end. The Seven was an iconic vehicle revealed by Caterham although it failed to attract the much needed attention initially. The Seven was always known for its unique race car design and the interesting part about the Seven was that its important components were mated to the chassis itself.

This was in a generation when light weight sports cars were glamorous, courtesy the Cobra. Caterham planned on making this vehicle stand out in the crowd and the Seven managed to do just that with its brilliant performance and control. With the new entry level Seven, Caterham wants to restore the DNA of the original version in the car.

This means that exciting days lie ahead for people opting for a Seven as this vehicle will be a true racer to its core, as confirmed by Caterham CEO Colin Chapman. The Seven was meant only for racing and this is the field where the car excels. Therefore, purchasing this car for any other purpose would mean a waste of resources. However, the entry level car is expected to be simple and easy to drive and operate.

Aesthetically, there is nothing more appealing than a Caterham Seven cruising down the road and the deep bass of the engine is music to the ears of most car enthusiasts. The bare boned structure of the Seven may not appeal to many buyers but the sports lovers will definitely opt for this car. Caterham did not build the Seven for the mass market as they knew this was not a conventional transporting vehicle.
