Cadillac Unveiled the 2014 ATS Coupe at Detroit this week
|   Saturday, January 18, 2014
Cadillac has confirmed plans to launch the ATS Coupe across America by summer this year. The ATS Coupe was showcased at the Detroit Motor Show this week and is based on its saloon frame. A wider track is however in place, ensuring greater traction and balance. This also increases interior and boot space in minor proportions. Cadillac has taken inspiration from its German competitors and has introduced an optional FE3 sports suspension system on this vehicle.

Additional attachments include magnetic dampers, limited slip differentials and quicker steering. ATS Coupes are usually fitted with standard 18 inch sports rim and this vehicle features the same. Cadillac is offering both rear wheel drive and all wheel drive on this vehicle, while we like their general idea behind this vehicle. However, these vehicles are available in left hand drive, although they need to sport right hand drive for European markets.

We are yet to receive an official statement from Cadillac, regarding drive train, although standard 2.0 liter turbo charged engine lineups are expected, displacing 14 percent more power than the current lineup. This vehicle has the potential to rival BMW's 428i in terms of engine displacement and power generation although German build quality and luxury level is miles ahead of American royalty.

Various transmission choices are available and it is of massive importance. 2 + 2 seating layout is complementary, even though these rear seats cannot be used for travelling for long distances. Build quality is fresh, which is good considering massive competition in this particular segment. This is the first Cadillac to actually make full use of the company's modern technology. Cadillac has proved that classic cars can be civilized too.

We could be looking at more vehicles based on the ATS Coupe, if it manages to reach a certain level of popularity with the masses. This vehicle is based on modern technology, while Cadillac brings a certain level of class and refinement to it. Even though Cadillacs were not known for performance, the company is trying to change public opinion with their latest fleet. For more details regarding the 2014 Cadillac ATS Coupe, come back soon.
