BMW Working on a Performance Package Exclusively for the M4
|   Wednesday, August 07, 2013
BMW has just unveiled a range of performance upgrades, aimed at enhancing the general appeal of the highly anticipated 4 Series M line performance Class, expected to be unveiled early next year. The M4 is the most anticipated vehicle at the moment as it will be replacing the iconic BMW M3. Insiders claim that the M4 will be showcased at the Detroit Motor Show 2014 and the hype around this car has been pushed up even higher.

The Performance Enhancement Kit includes an aggressively styled body kit along with a series of various trim options, 20 inch sports alloy rims and tires along with customized suspension.
The power generated has been enhanced by a small margin while the torque figures have also increased. The UK will get four distinct engine options on the 4 Series Coupe.

Customers are also entitled to opt for individual customization options available on the M4 Coupe and the range of available customization options in expected to be considerably huge. Use of carbon fiber, reinforced plastic and aluminum is high and these keep the general weight of the car in check. New front and rear bumper designs look good on the M4 while the new diffuser elements work in perfect alignment with the car.

The standard 2.0 liter turbo charged engine from the current lineup of engines will be powering the BM@ M4 Coupe although this engine will be customized to enhance power displacement by 27 BHP and 29 ft lb of torque. Additional petrol and diesel options are likely, even though the complete range of engines is yet to be unveiled. New software to enhance power delivery is promised on the new M4 although the details are yet to be revealed.

Fuel efficiency and CO2 emission are also expected to improve along with the general performance of the car and this will be quite beneficial in order to gain tax benefits. Additional cost effectiveness will definitely enhance the demand of this vehicle. Direct fuel injected petrol engines are just as popular as turbo charged powerhouses and BMW is offering a wide range of options on the entire 4 Series.

The performance package on the M4 is the best way to replace the current generation M3 although the standard version of the M4 is powerful enough to tackle most of its competitors. Some of the visual enhancements made to the M4 include Xenon head lamps, LED Daytime Running Lights, black trim throughout the interior, carbon fiber side mirrors etc. The engine note is also quite loud and this enhances the general drive dynamics of the car.

BMW is quite excited about the launch this September and last minute checks and tests are being conducted on the car at the moment to ensure that the car remains just as perfect as it was during the initial stages. The fans will definitely go berserk seeing the car although the standard version will be showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Performance Package is expected to reach the showrooms directly.
