BMW is among the best car sellers in the world, they are known for their innovations and creativity with latest technology. They are manufacturers of all hi-tech concepts for future, luxurious cars and mid priced cars for its customers. Being at height of success in market yet they fear of downfall, fearing this they are presenting all latest updates to their car technologies. Now they have created a certain type of carbon fiber thinner than hair yet stronger than steel.

BMW recently presented their electric version car in an auto show, this car is new and named as i3 version of BMW assembly line. This car will deploy in Germany first and afterwards to rest of the world in recent months to come. It is for the first time that any car company used only carbon fiber for constructing car's body making it lighter car. It is shift in car world, earlier only aluminum was used for manufacturing car's body.

BMW shifted its tradition of car making frames from aluminum; the aluminum tech was used since 1980's. BMW's this tech is implemented with the idea of sustainable feature of their cars for future and present purposes. Now companies are more tilted towards creating environment friendly car as per recent demands from both customers and government.

This idea of using carbon fiber thinner than a hair was taken place six years back by the newly appointed chief of the enormous company Norbert Reithofer. He examined the drawback trends of their cars and environmental aspects, act accordingly for stabilizing their company's future.

The company's head of strategic planner claimed that they are focusing on presenting cars like 6-series, X5 and 7-series eco friendly cars for future release. BMW produces ultimate driving machine as per their title line in ads, it's true that they are the best in car manufacturing.

They are aiming on manufacturing more electric cars than fuel emissions cars, so they initiated this by BMW i3 model their best and very innovative car idea. BMW i3 is a revolution for making frames for cars as they used highly strong and thin carbon fiber for making the cars body, they changed the definition of constructing cars body with ordinary aluminum.

Revolutionary i3 is created for solving the problem of carrying heavy batteries in electric cars. Generally a electric car gives a mileage of 100 km per charge which is added with heavy battery and added with car's steel body weight make it very difficult for car to rise to an admirable speed. So the best and feasible idea comes is to reduce the car weight by using carbon fiber. Carbon fiber are synthetic materials much lighter than steel yet much stronger than steel.

But only stone in this path is high cost of carbon fiber, comes around $20 per kg compared to steel only for $1 per kg. BMW is still working on reducing price of carbon fiber by 2020. To produce carbon fiber they started joint venture with SGL Carbon SE 2009.
