BMW set to unveil the all new 760si LE fall 2013
|   Wednesday, November 14, 2012
BMW has recently launched the 7 Series 760 Li SE in a renewed avatar and this vehicle is powered by a 3.0 liter engine. This may lower the impression of the 7 Series, however the vehicle is packed with features to attract customers and there is a lot of other things to look for while purchasing a car than its power output. BMW is in its 25th year of the 12 cylinder engine design and to commemorate the occasion, BMW has created its flagship model with the 12 cylinder setup under the hood.

The 760 Li SE is powered by a twin turbo, V12 petrol engine with power at par with most modern day super cars. The maximum torque output of 537 BHP comes in close to 5250 RPM and this is the peak torque formation zone for the 760 Li SE. However, maximum power is developed in the range between 1500 to 3500 RPM and the latest generation 7 Series vehicles have received a lot of technical enhancements and not just minor cosmetic changes.

The engine on the 760 Li SE is smoother than its predecessor but is also more perceptible. People could easily be fooled by the lack in power during the early shifts. However upon reaching the peak RPM formation zone the vehicle fires up quite abruptly. The deep engine growl is killer and it is the best part about the new 7 Series. This does not however compromise of engine refinement and the V12 is one of the most refined engine from the stables of BMW.

The turbo charged 5.0 liter engine makes the people around the vehicle feel the presence of its presence and as a result the 760 Li SE has a very dominating road presence. The vehicle has also been implanted with a host of technically advanced features such as Dynamic Damper Control, Active Steering, Dynamic Drive Roll and Driving Experience Control. The 760 Li SE is one of the best driver oriented vehicles in the BMW range of vehicles and the suspension system is very efficient as well.

However, this is not the best vehicle to purchase at the moment and the 7 Series could do with a better flag ship model. With fuel efficiency at 21.1 MPG with Co2 emission of 303 g/km, the 760 Li SE is not one of the most fuel efficient or environment friendly vehicles at the moment. With a top speed of 133 MPH with acceleration from 0 MPH to 60 MPH coming in close to 4.6 seconds, this is also not included in the list of the best performing vehicles.

The only thing good about the 760 Li SE is that it is high on comfort while featuring a high build and finish quality. But if comfort is the main criterion people would rather go for a sofa than a premium segment BMW. Vehicles in the segment feature better finish quality while providing performance feature way out of the league of the BMW. Therefore, this is not a viable choice for the moment.
