BMW Set to Roll Out the Next Generation 3 Series

BMW has upgraded the 3 Series vehicles to launch a modern version of the vehicles. The flaccid exterior of the 3 Series has been completely revamped and the new model features sharper edges, panels and lines as compared to its predecessor. The vehicle features an increase in length by 93 mm and is visually compact but cozy. Lexus and Mercedes Benz have also worked on the dimension of their vehicles and the BMW 3 Series is considerably stretched out.


The vehicle is 40kg lower than its predecessor sporting a strong chassis and high steel body that is stronger and lightweight as compared to its predecessor. The increase in size makes this model practical. BMW is claiming enhanced fuel efficiency along with lesser CO2 emission. Vertical air intake vents have been installed as part of a new air circulation system and the exterior modification includes Bi xenon headlamps, Daytime Running lamps as well as adaptive head lamps.

The aerodynamics have been enhanced and this smooth out the performance of the 3 Series when in speed. The Sports model features a black paint scheme and the front grille feature black finishing. Chrome options are also available and people have to choose the trim before the delivery date.

Wider tires have been added to the vehicle to lend it a sports look and when viewed from the rear, it gives the 3 Series a new dimension. The interior sports minute details in the dashboard and side panels and this is a major addition that the 3 Series feature. The instrument cluster has been redesigned and carbon fiber and plastic have been used to give the vehicle a weight reduction.

Entertainment features have been installed and an additional 6.5 inch screen has been inserted to up the quotient. Steering is quite precise and the driving position is comfortable and exciting. Adjustments have been made to the general drive ergonomics and this has enhanced the way the 3 Series functions. The cabin is cozy and compact, yet features sufficient space to accommodate five adults with ease.

Sufficient head, leg and shoulder space make the 3 Series one of the most comfortable BMWs on the road and the company has improved on the quality of the materials used. The single tone upholstery gives the cabin a professional look and this maintains the general aesthetics of the vehicle. The new 3 Series vehicles are sports oriented as BMW is focused on the younger generation as a prospective market. The 3 Series features six different power train options although the most popular of the lot is the four cylinder turbo charged diesel engine used on the 328i.

0 – 60 MPH comes in close to 7.7 seconds while the average review range is 1200 – 5000 RPM. The turbo diesel engine fires up perfectly and produces sufficient power to glide over asphalt. The 3 Series is not built for travelling off road and the suspension settings have been made accordingly. The engines are mated to a six speed automatic transmission system.
