BMW revives a Classic MINI

BMW group classic, it's a BMW museum for showcasing BMW cars and other cars from cars history and even restores cars by putting together all spares, all under their own right. Recently they restored a classic 1959 Austin Seven; it's the classic MINI in Netherlands. MINI production in Netherlands stalled from since 1966.
MINI will again start their production in Netherlands soon in summer of 2014. JJ Molenaar's company in Netherlands manufactured almost 4000 Austin Seven and Morris Mini-Minors in 1959 to 1966, but this is estimated that once the company starts again in recent coming summer the production would be much higher.


Team of five person of VDL nedcar has taken up the responsibility of restoring the MINI in Netherlands from front to tail. In the work of rebuilding the Austin following works have been done 34 horsepower and four cylinder engine is rebuilt, hand done white door panels and lots of head to toe effort were given in getting exact replicas of spare parts for the car.

Even the paint used for the car is original farina gray for maintaining the authenticity of Austin and to present a good example of restoration. To do all these restoration work VDL nedcar also got aided form MINI in finding the replicas for the Austin.

The restoration work went very well as this old but classic Austin stole lots of heart in the BMW museum, MNI is very famous for production of small cars with power and balance. This 983 car is put back on the road after long interval of time; this is 54 aged fantasy car. At Netherlands plant of VDL nedcar it is restored and run for a test, hence the result Austin is fit to run. Car 983 was kept under an old barn for several years in Groningen; its engine was shut and jammed. VDL will start a fresh manufacturing of MINI in next summer of 2014 under a contract.

Around 1500 employees will work for the VDL plant for MINI production, MINI will soon hit the market and conquer many small cars and hope to give a good competition to other small car manufactures. They given this project name as "reborn" as they are again starting the process of long lost MINI Netherlands. BMW Group Classic is the main activist for BMW Corporation and associated with the history of many other car companies, it has three car brands under its history of car they are BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce. They present the cars history and cars details through their BMW museum.

Right now Netherlands have MINI production on their land, VDL have done lots of hard work to restore the Austin, to keep an evidence that they can once again start the MINI in Netherlands full back onto the business. Both VDL and BMW Group have given their biggest help in restoration work of MINI. It's a reborn task of years back halted company, MINI will start with full force and functionally in the summer of 2014.
