BMW Recalls 156,000 Units Due to Faulty Crank
|   Wednesday, May 07, 2014
BMW has recalled close to 156,000 units – including SUVS and cars – in America, due to engine failures. The affected vehicles had been manufactured between the years 2010 and 2012 and are include their 128i, 640i, 328i, 535i, Z4, 528i, 135i, 335i, X6, X5 and X3 models. This is a huge list to be fair and fixing the stated number of vehicles could take up a considerable amount of time.

BMW says that bots holding their engine camshaft together could be getting loose or breaking, resulting in engine failures such as power loss or complete stalling.
Drivers run the risk of being involved in an accident and car owners are requested to take their vehicle and report to the authorities at once.

The dealers will do the needful for free, while recalls should start by May. BMW says that they will not recall another 170,000 units of six-cylindered engine, manufactured within the same time frame, but will provide extended warranty.
