BMW has a serious offer for people who consider the M5 Coupe to be less stylish – the BMW M6 Gran Coupe. BMW's M Series is all set to get the latest edition and this is set to be the third model in the M lineup. The M6 Gran Coupe is powered by a 4 .4 liter twin turbo charged V8 engine mated to a dual clutch seven speed automatic transmission system which was first used on the fifth generation M Series vehicles such as the M5.

Power generation has been increased by 108 BHP while torque levels have risen by 22 ft lbs.
This gives a vague idea about the many modifications performed on this vehicle. The first batch of the M 650i Gran Coupe is already on sale in the UK and the performance of the vehicle in the market need to be gauged.

In terms of exterior dynamics, there is little difference between the M6 Gran Coupe and the latest generation M5 – set to receive a minor facelift. Both vehicles feature a four door saloon set up although the M6 is definitely a better looker. BMW claims that the dimensions of the vehicle are different and while the M6 sports four seats, the M5 is capable if housing five people at a maximum.

The BMW M6 Gran Coupe has the perfect power to weight ratio in its class even though0 it weighs 5 kg over the M5. The M6 Gran Coupe even reaches the 0 – 60 MPH bracket quicker than the M5 by 0.1 second. The top speed of the M6 Gran Coupe has been electronically reduced to 155 MPH although customers have the choice of fixing the top speed at 190 MPH.

An on road performance test carried out by an unbiased team last month reported that the M6 Gran Coupe has no problems recording speeds claimed by the company and the vehicle is very smooth and refined in acceleration. Once the throttle is floored, an instant burst of power appears which has the potential to lift speeds up to the top end of the gauge.

The muscular property of the engine is the best aspect of the vehicle and BMW is confident that this vehicle will fare well in the European markets. This car has been designed keeping in mind the needs of the European customers and as a result some of the biggest advantages of this car are its high performance, high level of build quality and ride comfort and fuel efficiency. The suspension setting also enhances the overall ride quality.

The general properties of the chassis are shared with the M5 and as a result there are not many differences between these cars. Due to the additional M electronic differential, traction control has been increased for the rear wheel drive vehicle. Aggressive ECU remapping also ensures monstrous power from the engine and BMW is offering customized power displacement on special request. The steering column and throttle response also has its own part to play in making the M6 Gran Coupe the beast it is.
