BMW looking forward to roll out a range of vehicles fall 2013
|   Friday, November 30, 2012
BMW is planning to launch a sedan of the all new second generation 1Series entry level M model. This new vehicle is set to rival the Audi S3 and the Mercedes Benz CLA 45 AMG. The BMW will sport a 2.0 liter twin turbo engine which is capable of displacing 300 BHP. Although this is a very potent vehicle and capable of some high strung performance, it will not be launched in the United Kingdom, at least till the end of 2014 due to the work pressure on the BMW UK team.
The backlog needs to be cleared and the team will see to that happening before a new project is undertaken.

The British market is one of the most potent markets for this new BMW and the German car maker will introduce the model as soon as the current projects are completed. The primary market for the sub compact sedans is the emerging markets, including the very potent Chinese market along with North America. BMW is looking forward to launching a new sedan in the subcompact segment as the CLA 45 AMG and the S3 are both ready to be unveiled. The vision behind this new vehicle was conceived after the success of the M Coupe, the six cylinder, 315 BHP producing engine was used on the M 135i which went on to become highly popular.

The market trend has shifted from large sized sedans such as the M3 and the M5 as they have undergone a number of upgrades and have also seen a rise in price. This has been a major deterrent for people hoping to buy the M Series vehicles and the major reason behind this is the economic downturn in Europe. Therefore, the major car makers are trying to get back to the customer's interest and hence the formation of the new subcompact sedan class.

The current BMW 1 Series vehicles are available in three and five door models and mostly feature front wheel drive. However, BMW is getting ready to upgrade the current platform and introduce rear wheel drive as well under a new platform design which will be known as the second generation of the 1 Series. However, the 1 Series will not perish and will simply be focused on the smaller, economic models from BMW.

BMW is also interested in launching smaller touring vehicles and the company had showcased one such front wheel drive model at the Paris International motor Show. This vehicle was strategically unveiled and is expected to take on the Mercedes Benz B Class crossover when it hits the market fall 2013. A steel monocoque design is being hailed as the next generation of BMW and Mini too will feature similar design changes.

BMW is currently working on launching a new vehicle under the 2 Series badge and the vehicle is expected to be christened as the M 235i Coupe. However, no formal announcements have been made as of yet, however BMW is expected to come out into the open quite soon.
