BMW 435i M Sports convertible exclusive review
|   Friday, August 08, 2014
Yet another classy addition to the 4 series from BMW. They have taken a liking towards M Sports trim and release the new 435i convertible with it. There are good sides, and, well, good sides only to this. There are certain design and comfort aspects that come with this trim option.

A standard 18 inch alloy wheel is a part of this trim, and 19 inch alloy wheels are kept as an option. There is stiffer suspension, obviously, for the sporty feel. Sports trim also means sports seat for sure.
And finally, there is a new badge that comes with this trim.

It really feels like a joy to drive. It is airy (when the roof is down), and all the sunlight comes in. it looks quite sophisticated and like a rare sight on busy roads. It drives smoothly with no glitches whatsoever. It is equally comfortable and easy to control as well.

It is a bit on the heavier side when it comes to tow weight. So steering seems a bit out of date, but then it is something which can be managed. A bit of time and practice is required to get a grip on it, that's all.

It comes with a 3 liter turbocharged petrol engine. The same engine was used in 335i as well, so it is a dependable 6 cylinder. It is quite nice when it comes to power, and frankly speaking, a bit of extra power is required considering the extra bit of weight!

It is capable of delivering 302 bhp at peak revolutions in range of 5800 rotations per minute to 6000 rotations per minute. Torque is also quite high at 295 lb ft, and it is accessible at a lower and wider range of revolutions, between 1200 and 5000 rotations per minute. It is fitted with an eight speed automatic transmission system for improved fuel economy.

Top speed of this power is at 155 miles per hour, which is quite good considering a mileage of 37.6 miles per gallon combining performance on both city roads as well as highways. A time of 5.5 seconds is required to fire up the engine to 62 miles per hour. CO2 emission is reasonable at 180 g/km.

It is a well designed car, both from interior as well as exterior. As mentioned above, the car looks very classy with the top down. It is quite comfortable and soothing inside as well. And with a sports trim, it has better seats and a more enjoyable ride.

There is, however, a minor issue with the chassis, which can be traced back to its minor issue with weight. With towing weight going over 1800 kg, it needs a stiff chassis to sit on, and the one already in use does not look so stiff.

It is however, a very dynamic and comfortable car. Not ideal for first time users but a must buy for anyone with a thing for flaunting in convertibles. You just can't get over the pull down aspect!
