A modified design both in the back and front, a premium sophisticated ambiance, and fresh power under the hood are all features on the new BMW 1 Series. With nearly two million units sold worldwide in the past decade, the latest model is ready to capture the market and ready to set new standards in the premium compact segment.

The new 3- and 5-door BMW 1 Series models come with revisions to motorization and additional measures designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

A large scale motorization update and an extension of BMW's EfficientDynamics technology guarantee that the new BMW 1 Series establishes net standards regarding fuel consumption.

BMW 1 Series customers will have available new power units with three or four cylinders. The new market leader is the BMW 116d EfficientDynamic Edition with 116 horsepower, fuel consumption of 3.4 liters / 100 km and emissions of 89 g / km.

The new three-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 1.5 liters stands out with its rich soundtrack. The BMW 116i generates a maximum power of 109 horsepower, enough to reach 100 km / h in 10.9 seconds. Fuel consumption is now between 5.5 and 5.0 liters / 100 km and emissions vary from 126 - 116 grams / kilometer.

The BMW 118i and BMW 120i are powered by a four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters, delivering 136 or 177 horsepower. The new 118i reaches 100 km / h in 8.5 seconds and gets an average consumption of 5.7 to 5.4 liters / 100 km. The BMW 120i sprints to 100 km / h in 7.4 seconds and has an average consumption of 6.0 to 5.7 liters / 100 kilometers.

The four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 2.0 liters on the new BMW 125i develops an output of 128 horsepower and consumes 6.7 to 6.6 liters / 100 km, with CO2 emissions are recorded at 157 - 154 g / km. The new BMW M135i is sporty and has an engine that produces 326 horsepower.
It can sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in just 5.1 seconds, and the average fuel consumption is 8.0 liters / 100 km with emissions of 188 g / km.
Regarding assistance systems, the new BMW 1 Series comes with the latest technologies such as parking assistance, which now enables parallel parking. The "Active Cruise Control" with stop & go function includes a camcorder for the back, Information System about speed limit, warning system when leaving the lane and the collision warning system.

Passenger protection in the case of BMW 1 Series cars has been confirmed by the maximum number of 5 stars at Euro NCAP tests. The safety features that come as standard equipment include front air-bags and the curtain airbags on the side, available for both rows of seats.
All seats are fitted with three-point safety belts, while the front seat is equipped with a pretensioner and force limiter. As an extra option, customers can choose run-flat tires that allow running even when there is no pressure on them.

On that note, compared to standard equipment the new BMW 1 Series model possesses a tire pressure indicator, which shows the driver the necessary information about each tire individually.
