Bentley woos the crowd with the new launches and the driver lineup

Bentley has left a permanent mark on the people who were present at the Good Wood Festival of Speed, with its new model launches. Bentley recently unveiled the new Continental GT Speed and needless to say, the fans went gaga over it.

Apart from new model launches, Bentley also introduced some of the professionals behind the wheels, sporting Bentley colors, like Juha Kankkunen, Guy Smith and Derek Bell. These people took the wheel of different models and went up for the famous hill climb at the event as the crowd cheered on for them.

The Continental GT Speed is termed as Bentley's new flagship model as the 616 BHP, W 12, twin turbo, oil cooled, fuel injected engine, has proven itself to be fastest Bentley ever made. This car made its debut at the Good Wood Festival of Speed and was driven by four times rally champion Juha Kankkunen.

The champion took the car for a spin around the hill climb track, to demonstrate the massive performance of the car and to show its original capabilities. Five times Le Mans winner Derek Bell went on to highlight the sporty side of the GT Speed. The car features a sporty engine, producing 500 BHP, and a twin turbo Continental GT V 8 engine. The car is a super sports coupe and performance is the key feature of this Bentley.

Guy Smith was at the dash board of the Bentley which had won the 2003 24 Hour Le Mans and he relieved those moments behind the wheel of the Continental GT Speed. Alongside the Continental GT Speed stood the Mulsanne Mulliner Driving Specification (MDS), the new driver centric variant of the GT Speed. The car also features the same specifications of the GT Speed, apart from a few tweaks aimed at making the car more drivers specified.

Also present at the event was the Bentley EXP 9 F SUV, the concept aimed at taking the Grand Touring sector head on. With the addition of this beast to the Bentley lineup, the car makers hope to take the Grand Touring sector by storm.

Apart from these events, Wolfgang Dürheimer, the Chief Executive and Chairman of the Bentley group, cruised the hill climbing track in a 1929 Bentley Blower Team car, which took part in the endurance race class of the pre war era.

Some of the eye grabbing technological features of the Continental GT Speed includes the new all wheel drive technology, which channels the power output from the engine to all the wheels equally, hence producing maximum output.

The car feels very good at lower revs and is equally good at high revs. The suspension of the car is hard and this helps the car attack the tight corners with much flamboyance. The tire quality and grip is top class and this ensures its claim of being one of the best track cars ever built.
The initial response to the car has been great and Bentley is hopeful of turning the cheers into prominent sales figures.
