Bentley Announces the Launch of the Continental Flying Spur Next Month
|   Monday, February 25, 2013
The all new Bentley Continental Flying Spur is quicker, agile, more fuel efficient and more powerful than its predecessor. The current generation is soon to go out of production and Bentley promises that the refinement issue plaguing the current generation of the Flying Spur has been resolved in the next generation vehicle. The Continental Flying Spur is all set to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and Bentley has promised to reveal the specifications and prices of the vehicle at the venue.

Bentley is also hopeful that the Flying Spur would be available across showrooms fall summer 2013 and the vehicle is powered by the all new 6.0 liter W12 engine. The powerhouse displaces 616 BHP @ 6000 RPM along with 580 ft lb of torque @ 2000 RPM. The engine is mated to the all new ZF transmission system and the shifting time has been brought below the 200 millisecond frame.

Bentley claims that the top speed is the 200 MPH mark but the fuel efficiency and CO2 emission marks have been improved. The new fuel efficiency figure is 19.2 MPG while the CO2 emission figure is 343 g/km. The vehicle features many major and minor tweaks on the interior and exterior and the detailing makes the vehicle more aggressive and mean.

The IE headlamps as well as the new designing features make the Bentley Continental Flying Spur a new force to reckon with in the super sports category and Bentley has used light weight materials in designing the chassis and body frame of the vehicle. The vehicle features 50 kg reduction in body weight and the power to weight ratio has been enhanced.

Under floor acoustic panels, new mufflers and acoustic glass makes the cabin sound proof while the new engine note is grumpy and very loud, announcing the high displacement under the hood. The Flying Spur is a new force to reckon with as it has no refinement issues like its predecessor and the vehicle performs and handles well at every situation. Corners can be maneuvered quickly and efficiently and the least amount of body roll and wheel spin makes this vehicle quite fun to drive.

Electronic drive assistance measures make the vehicle safe at high speeds but restrict the overall fun of driving. It is however recommended that people keep the settings on while taking the Flying Spur on a test drive. This vehicle also features some of the boldest and meanest lines ever on a Bentley and the company has gone to great heights to make this vehicle one of a kind.

New 19 inch sports rims make the vehicle a visual treat and the air suspension has also been tweaked to provide a better and more comfortable ride. The suspension bushes have been made 25 percent softer and as a result the ride is more comfortable. However, this undermines the steering potential but smart engineering made sure that no such obligations marred the driving experience of the Flying Spur. Overall, this is the most potential Flying Spur from Bentley.
