British car maker Bentley is all set to launch the revamped version of their flagship vehicle, the Continental GT Speed. The Continental GT coupe was the fastest production vehicle ever from Bentley and the GT Speed is all set to break the record.

With a top speed of 205 mph, the GT Speed is what every driving enthusiast wants in a car, loads of performance stuffed in a medium sized car filled with luxury. It is a dream come true for many as bookings are open now with delivery time of 4 months.

The Good Wood Auto Festival of Speed 2012 showcased this beauty and it became an instant hit with car lovers. After all an elegant design combined with killer performance is not what you get to see every day.

The Continental GT Speed is packed with a 12 cylinder engine promising massive performance. Add to this an elegant body frame, aggressive handling and high luxury. The total package sounds tempting enough and priced at $ 189,900, it is set to burn a hole in your pocket as well.

The car features a low up rated suspension system for a sportier feel and an agile driving experience and the new 8 speed automatic transmission allows the car to glide over asphalt. The intelligent transmission system allows the driver to shift at the exact moment and with the help of an electronic control, the engine produces the perfect combination of speed and refinement.

Sitting at the heart of the GT Speed is a Bentley 6 L, 48 valve, twin turbo charged V 12 engine, producing 625 PS @ 6,000 rpm and a huge 800 Nm of torque. The massive engine allows the car to do a smooth 0 – 60 mph in 4.0 seconds and 0 – 100 mph comes in about 7.2 seconds.

Channeling all the power to the exact spots is a unique chassis with an up rated steering and suspension system and a low ride height. The 21 inch wheel also helps in converting the massive power to speed and is available in two types of P-Zero ultra high performance tyres.

The Bentley Continental GT has been a symbol of luxury mixed with performance since the past decade so much so that Bentley has developed to being the manufacturer of all high performance V12 engines. The GT Speed has once again showcased the dominance of Bentley in the world with its sheer speed, build quality and luxury.

Standard electronics on the GT Speed include an all wheel drive technology which harnesses the total power of the engine and channels it to all the tyres equally. This helps the GT to give optimum performance as well as use the torque at low revs and hence ensure grip and stability, which is very important to cars of the GT Speed's capability.

The overall muscular and strong feel of the GT Speed is made subtle by the design lines which lend an elegant feel to the car. The quality of the GT Speed is the best in the segment and the materials used are of the best quality. It just remains to be seen if the GT manages the sales figure that Bentley claims the car is capable of.
