Automotive VLF Brought 2 Monsters To Detroit - Destino V8 Based On Fisker Karma And Force 1 V10 Based On Dodge Viper

Certainly an absolute surprise at the auto show in Detroit was the launching of a new auto manufacturer - VLF Automotive. Although the name is new, it can be considered a continuation of the company Fisker Automotive, which has gone bankrupt in 2013.

This happened after Henrik Fisker left this company due to disagreements regarding the company's strategy. Now Henrik Fisker is back in business with Gilbert Villareal and former General Motors CEO Bob Lutz with the company VLF Automotive (initials of the founders), and a strategy to create unique luxury vehicles with diabolical performance.

Even though the previous company, Fisker Automotive, had embarked on a different path being renamed Karma, it left some remnants of what was once Fisker Karma. The electric model has been redesigned and renamed Destino V8, and the electric propulsion based on a gasoline engine as a generator was replaced with a huge V8 LS9engine with a displacement of 6.2 liters, taken from the Corvette ZR1.
After all, who needs ecology, if you simply do not take account of this necessity with this monster equipped with a mechanical compressor which develops 638 hp and 819 Nm of torque?!

Having a weight of 1.950 kg, the Destino V8 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (96 km / h) in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 322 km / h. The price of the new Destino V8 is 229,000 dollars.

The price of Force 1 V10 is very high too, reaching 268,500 dollars. With the new Force 1 V10, Henrik Fisker returns to strategy of Fisker Automotive's inception, and especially to the transformation of existing vehicles into unique creations, just as they have done to the Fisker Tramonto model (based on Mercedes-Benz SL R230) , and Fisker Latigo version (based on the BMW 6 Series E63). The Force 1 V10 is based on the Dodge Viper current generation, and this is demonstrated by the proportions of the car, side exhaust pipes and 6 wheel nut characteristic only of the Viper.

Otherwise, the body is unique, with an aggressive design are made entirely of carbon fiber, the latter being visible on the roof, front spoiler, rear diffuser and rear view mirrors bodies. Subjectively speaking, the original Viper looks much better, and has a character more contoured and a price almost three times lower. But the Dodge Viper does not have champagne bottle holders.

Due to carbon fiber car the weight was reduced to 1.538 kg, while the immense power of the V10 engine with a displacement of 8.4 liters was raised from 645 hp to 745 hp and maximum torque increased from 813 to 928 Nm!

The Force 1 V10 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (96 km / h) in 3.0 seconds and can reach a top speed of over 350 km / h.
Even more important is the novelty that besides a manual 6-speed transmission taken from the Viper the Force 1 V10 can be equipped with an automatic transmission in six reports - a weakness of the current Viper due to which the latter has rather poor sales.
The V10 Force 1's production will be limited with a series of just 50 copies being planned.
