Audi Unveiled the RS Q3 at the Geneva Motor Show
|   Wednesday, March 13, 2013
Audi has added a new vehicle to its lineup while experts believe that this could be the beginning of the next generation SUVs from the premium segment German car makers. This is the all new Audi RS lineup and this vehicle is expected to be powered by a 2.5 liter turbo charged five cylindered engines displacing 306 BHP. The first vehicle to be unveiled is the Audi RS Q3 and is set to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this week.

The new RS Q3 is all ready to be crowned the next most popular Q3 on the block and the vehicle has already stirred up the market prior to its launch.
Sharp lines are present on the exterior of the vehicle and Audi has gone deep into research before launching this vehicle. It is therefore expected to be better than all its predecessors and rivals and this is the major talking point in the market at the moment.

The vehicle is expected to be more powerful than the four cylindered 2.0 liter engines displacing 242 BHP placed in the BMW X1 and this brings it straight out of the competition. However, the Mercedes Benz GLA 45 AMG is a direct rival to this vehicle and Audi is prepared to go to any lengths to outdo the GLA 45 AMG in terms of overall performance.

Both these vehicles are German engineering at its best and as a result the competition will be tough. In fact the odds are high and customers are bound to be spoilt for choice this year. The straight four cylinder 2.0 liter engine in the GLA 45 AMG is capable of outperforming the RS Q3 and hence Audi has to make the production model of this vehicle up to the challenge.
The Concept version of the RS Q3 was previewed at the Beijing Motor Show in 2012 and a lesser powered Q3 is also on the cards. Exterior modifications include a front bumper, gloss black honeycomb grille, matt aluminum interior as well as side mirrors. A prominent spoiler has been introduced on the tail gate with a deeper rear spoiler with a large chromed tail pipe.

The general wheel base dimension has been increased and powering this gigantic beast is a 2.5 liter turbo charged five cylinder petrol engines. Audi is most likely to introduce a hybrid power train option on the RS Q3m although a specific time frame has not been setup. The engine has been modified as the same variant is used on the Audi TT RS and the RS3 which was recently discontinued.

Optimum torque is displaced within the 1500 – 5200 RPM while 310 ft lb of torque is displaced. This makes the RS Q3 the most powerful Q3 till date. Audi is offering a standard S Tronic seven speed automatic transmission system on the vehicle with three drive modes – Drive, Manual and Sport. The multi plate Haldex transmission system is operated hydraulically and this increases the overall performance of the vehicle.
