Audi showcases the concept Q2
|   Tuesday, November 06, 2012
Audi launched the new concept SUV, the Q2 at the Paris International Motor Show 2012 with the new technology called Cross land Coupe. The new concept vehicle measures a staggering 4250 mm in length, 1900 mm in width and 1500 mm in height.

The concept Q2 is lighter, loner and wider than the in production A3 but is shorter than Audi's entry level SUV, the Q3 in ride height. The Cross land Coupe has 3D grille and an enhanced exterior design as that of an Audi SUV and the vehicle is a perfect example of what an SUV should be like.

The vehicle is calm, composed and aggressive and is powered by a 116 BHP producing 184 ft lb displacing electric motor and system of cells apart from a 1.5 liter, three cylindered engines displacing 130 BHP.

The electric engine is the primary engine on the SUV and the diesel engine kicks ion only when the main engine runs out of juice. However, driving the vehicle on a single engine is not possible and hence both the engines work simultaneously to produce the best effect.

The Audi Q2 is expected to be available at showrooms post 2015 and is a direct competition to the MINI Country man. The new Audi Q2 will just be under the Q3 segment wise and the vehicle features a five door layout, high roofline space and a four seated cabin for optimum space and usability.
The basic exterior and interior features on the W2 is similar to that on the Q3 and the vehicles are like siblings when it comes to the looks. However, a final call on the designing is set to be taken post December by the bosses and the Q2 could be designed differently if decided. However, as of now, there is no final plan and everything is dependent on time.

Most probably the Q2 will be designed on the MQB platform from Audi and this will also be the platform for the Q3 post 2017. Future plans are being laid out to shape the future of the company and the Q2 will be offered a rear wheel and all wheel drive technology depending upon the customer's choice.

The suspension system on the new Q2 is set to be stiffer than that on the Q3 and this gives the vehicle increased control over the stability of the vehicle and road safety. The vehicle's stability control is excellent considering its size and volume and the acceleration is a whole new story.
The smart aerodynamic body structure of the Q2 enables the vehicle perform better and the light weight chassis of the vehicle help shave off a few critical seconds while accelerating. The engine sounds the happiest when pushed to the limits and the broad 19 inch alloyed sports rims of the vehicle aggravates the aggressive look of the vehicle. The vehicle has already managed to create quite a stir in the market and its commercial launch is eagerly awaited by true Audi fans.
