Audi Q3 Provides the Best Dynamics in Class
|   Sunday, August 18, 2013
The latest Audi Q3 is not your traditional SUV; in fact it is more like a modern cross over. With interior space almost equaling that of an SUV and handling like a hatch back, this 4 x 4 is one of the most potent vehicles from Audi in recent times. The Q3 is the smallest vehicle in the Q Class and borrows certain features from its bigger cousin, the Q5.

The Q3 is a visually smaller vehicle than the vehicles it is expected to compete in the market with such as the Range Rover Evoque.
However, the customer base for both vehicles is different and this is what sets things apart. The D pillars on the rear of the Q3 diminish chances of people calling it a boxy structure and the exterior design of this vehicle is rather compelling.

Just like its elder cousins, the Q3 has a wraparound structure with divided tail lamps, redefined front and rear bumpers and a whole new S line trim. The car is lit with LEDs which enhance the appearance of the vehicle. The Q3 is based on a four wheel drive train although it is strictly an on road vehicle. It could be taken on soft roads although heading off road is strictly prohibited.

The Q3 shares some of its design dynamics with the A4 All Road although this vehicle looks elegant. Color coded side skirts have been provided too. The interior is well groomed and the car looks completely Audi. The vehicle is fine tuned while the color codes complement the exterior quite well. The Q3 feels premium in its range while the dash board and seat settings have been done in an optimum fashion.

The interior light settings enhance the ambience while the gauge and different meters sit pretty and neat. A bunch of settings include climate and temperature control while heated seats make the journey comfortable. The Q3 is a part of a high class of vehicles and as a result nothing but premium quality is expected from the makers. This car has the potential that every German SUV has and features easy handling at the same time.

The Audi Q3 draws power from a 2.0 liter turbo charged engine displacing 167 or 208 BHP depending upon the tuning. The engine is mated to a dual clutch seven speed transmission system. The gear ratio is well adjusted and this gives the Q3 sufficient power in the early and mid range. High end torque is also present even though this vehicle is not necessarily a performance SUV.

A range of electronic measures have been added to the car to make it safer as a whole. Advanced start stop has been added which saves fuel while Hill Climb, Electronic Stability Control and Traction Control have been added to enhance the ride experience. Maximum power is delivered near the 4200 RPM mark although the engine red lines much higher up the segment. New engine options are expected in the lineup soon and these should receive equal importance.
