Audi Q1 compact SUV, boosting the company's long term expansion plan
|   Sunday, December 08, 2013
All previous releases from Audi have been surprisingly satisfying, and the same can be expected from their latest plan, Audi Q1 soft roader. This car is going to be a first of its kind and a small or as they say, a baby-baby Sports Utility Vehicle from one of the major automobile manufacturing companies.

Deriving from their German roots, this company has always been inclined towards use of modern technology. Now they have packed this new Q1 Sports Utility Vehicle with technological features that will make it a good rival for Mini Countryman that is presently ruling small SUV category.

This new car from Audi is going to be released in 2016. There is a huge amount of time before this car is actually released or even goes into production. So proposed design for this car may be changed for better in meantime. Still, it looks quite amazing just the way it is right now.

Like all other small cars in this group, this car is also going to rest on a conventional VW platform. Actually, it is going to be a traditional VW modular transverse engine platform. This MQB Lego has had a colorful history, it has been the backbone of many such similar cars, and now it is going to be supporting this round up car in Q series from Audi.

Not much information about which engine is going to be fitted in this car has yet been announced. After all, this car is going to go into production in 2016, and that is like a long time ahead. Still, there has been much speculation and rather fantasies about which engine is going to be driving this car. There has been some hints by some car enthusiasts, that both petrol as well as a diesel variant of a 4 cylinder engine is going to be available, although there has been no authentication on this, and it seems more like a request. Even speculation of an electric variant of this car is hanging in the automobile market.

This is not the only big news from Audi. There is a lot that this company expects will go in their favor in near future. First of all, they are planning to increase their sales figures by a substantial amount and are also planning to increase number of cars in their range. Sales of their present cars like Q5 and SUVs are up, and all these hints towards a better future for this automobile manufacturing company.

There is an already 49 cars in Audi's range, and they plan to expand it to 60 models. This Audi Q1 will be a part of it when it comes out of manufacturing unit in Ingolstadt in 2016. There has been no word about the price of this car also. There is no point in speculating over these things, and there is an eager wait for more official news about this car. Still, it is a strategic move from Audi in their long term plan of expansion.
