Audi Plans to Make Massive Investments by 2020
|   Thursday, January 02, 2014
Audi has just revealed its plans to invest nearly £18.4 Billion in technology and development. New vehicles are hence up for development while work on latest technology should begin soon. Major investments are set to start by 2014 while the project should be completed by 2018. This is also the largest investment Audi has ever made. While 70 percent of the fund will be used to design and develop newer models, the other part will be used to develop infrastructure to carry forward with plans of expansion.

Audi is currently working on its third generation TT Coupe, which is expected to go on sale by 2014. Electric, hybrid and alternate fuel cell powered vehicles are also on the cards while work on diesel and petrol engine to enhance refinement and fuel efficiency is currently underway.

Audi has grand plans for the future, including manufacture and sales upgrades which should do them a lot of good. The company currently has 49 models which they plan on increasing to 60 by the end of 2020. Models such as the Q1, which is currently under production, should come into Audi's official lineup soon. The company plans on selling close to 1.5 Million units by 2015 although much has been achieved by 2013.

Insiders are currently working on increasing deliveries within the next few years and this should setup a new milestone for Audi for the upcoming years. Their new plant at Mexico and Brazil will start operations by 2015 while Hungary and China will receive a small portion of this investment to continue production. China will be getting its second Audi facility shortly although vehicle production plans for this plant is yet to be disclosed.

The Audi TT Coupe has been seen at various occasions, although highly camouflaged, which gives us the impression of severe modifications having been made to its exterior. We will be disclosing specifications regarding this vehicle as soon as Audi makes a formal announcement. People are tight lipped about this vehicle as of now and hence not much is known. Come back soon to catch the latest updates about the Audi TT Coupe.
