Audi plans to launch the R8 GT Sports Coupe
|   Saturday, November 03, 2012
Audi has revealed the next model of the all new R8 with the launch of the R8 V 10 plus coupe. This vehicle stands in the slot between the 518 BHP producing V 10 and the 552 BHP displacing V10 GT Coupe. This vehicle has the potential to become the flag ship model of Audi and the vehicle displaces 542 BHP.

The R8 V 10 GT Coupe has the power to challenge the likes of the all new Bentley Continental GT, Porsche 911 GT 3 and the Aston Martin Vantage.
These vehicles are very close to each together on the pricing front and as far as performance is concerned, the vehicles have to be driven personally to understand the basic driving dynamics.

The V 10 GT Coupe sports a carbon ceramic disk caliper as standard with revised front and rear multi link suspension. The springs have been modified and front dampers are available as standard on the new plus unit. Carbon fiber usage has been increased and the vehicle weighs just 10 kg heavier than its predeceasing V8 even though it features a host of technical and other modifications.

The V 10 is better than the V 8 for three strong reasons and they are a quick launching ability, excess top speed and better handling and stability. The vehicle has a class of its own and reaches 0 – 60 MPH in just 3.5 seconds. The six speed automatic transmission is lifted off the Lamborghini Gallardo and the robotized gear box is the best aspect of this vehicles.
Power transfer to the axle is perfect with the help of this transmission system and the Audi R8 V 10 GT Coupe is one of the fastest cars on the block. The automatic is better than the manual R8 as the vehicle does not have to deal with the mechanical aspects of a manual. Hence, power dispersion is optimum.

The handling on the V 10 GT Coupe is beyond the conventional Audi R8 and this is the best feature of this super car. With a top speed of 197 MPH, the vehicle accelerates to 60 MPH in 3.5 seconds. The V 10 displaces 5204 CC and 542 BHP @ 5,000 RPM. Maximum power is displaced during this peak torque level.

The vehicle is perfect for the track and Audi could use this vehicle post 2013 for track events. However, this is just a speculation and no official reports have been made as of yet. The seven speed twin clutch transmission system is perfect for channeling power to the axle and the GT Coupe is an overall powerful machine. The R8 tag on the vehicle proves its worth and this vehicle is a worthy addition to the already powerful lineup.
The power to weight ratio on the R8 V10 GT Coupe is great and the advanced ergonomics of this vehicle is responsible for its increase in acceleration and top speed. The all aluminum chassis also does its bit to reduce weight and this is what clicks for the R8.
