Audi Plans on Launching a Limited Edition TTS Competition
|   Friday, August 16, 2013
Audi has launched the 500,000th unit of the super sports car, the TT and to commemorate the occasion, the company has just launched a Special Edition TT. This vehicle is called the 2014 Audi TT Competition and the company plans on rolling out just 500 units of the vehicle throughout the world. As the nameplate suggests, the Limited Edition is based on the TTS and is bound to have a few sporty updates.

Audi is offering exclusive paint finishes to the car such as Nimbus Gray and Imola Yellow while the exterior has a few visual upgrades over the standard vehicle as well.
The soft top versions get an additional black or gray roof. Audi is also offering 19 inch rims as standard on the car while the tire size is expected to be 225/35. The five spoke wheel design has been finalized for use on the Limited Edition while the first unit of the car is expected to be rolled out soon.

Gray and yellow contrasting stitches have been used on the interior while the general trim has been set to complement the exterior of the vehicle. Every unit manufactured will be marked ‘1 out of 500' in order to maintain the exclusivity of the car. Magnetic ride dampers along with xenon head lamps have also been added to the ride along with aluminum accents inside the cabin. These features make the Audi TTS Limited Edition all the more special.

The power train however features no considerable change and as a result the vehicle still draws power from a 2.0 liter TFSI engine displacing 272 BHP along with 258 ft lb of torque. The engine is mated to a dual clutch six speed transmission systems lifted off the TT Coupe while the TTS Competition is capable of accelerating from 0 – 60 MPH within 5.3 seconds. The car further sports a top speed of 155 MPH while maintaining a fuel economy of 30 MPG.

The TTS Competition is expected to be showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show fall September 2013 while the car should hit showrooms by the end of the year. The first was launched way back in 1998 and the car turned heads immediately. In fact the design went on to win many awards since. The TTS Competition is bound to bring back the feelings.

The standard electronic kit on the car includes rear parking sensors as standard along with a wide range of connectivity options. The base version of the car comes equipped with all such features while the range toppers feature additional modifications and personalization options.
The TTS Competition is the brain child of Walter De Silva, the head of designs at the Volkswagen Group and the car has already been termed the next generation TT.

The interior is done up in an unconventional manner while the leather upholstery enhances the general appeal and aesthetics of the car. Audi is offering both manual and automatic transmission options on the car although the automatic should be more popular considering the precision and Audi's Quattro technology.
