Audi Plans on Adding 11 New Models by 2020
|   Wednesday, December 25, 2013
Audi plans on increasing its current production load by 11 models. This will take up the current tally from 49 to 60 within the next few years. The German car making giants plan on taking sales figures to two million per year by 2020 and they are working closely to achieve these figures. Audi's Boss Rupert Stadler revealed at a press meet at the Audi headquarters at Ingolstadt, their plans to launch these new models, details of which are currently under the drawing board.

Audi for one wants to turn into a full scale SUV manufacturing unit and we expect newer models to arrive in showrooms within the next few years. Its latest MQB platform has been hugely successful for quite some time now and we expect its engineering division to work on it to modernize this platform as time rolls.

Audi's most successful SUV model at the moment is its Q1 and we could be looking at an upgraded variant quite soon. Audi also plans on increasing production capacity quite soon and this is a smart move considering their plans of increasing their product range. A range of sub SUVs will be launched parallel to its range of SUVs and some vehicles which could undergo modification includes the Q3, Q5 and Q7 apart from its Q1.

SUVs play a major role in development and considering their current demand in China and Asian countries, (which Audi has recently entered) this is a highly lucrative business segment. Engine modifications are likely as more power displacement is on the cards along with better fuel economy and environment consciousness. This is possible with the help from modernization and we could be seeing a turbo charged variant of its TT by 2015.

Audi plans on starting deliveries on a huge scale, although they plan on starting ahead of schedule. These decisions are taken by the top level officials and we hope they are not rushed as their results could be catastrophic. Even though the range of models up for launch is not specified, we expect Audi to finally launch a revamped A3 Sport back.
