|   Wednesday, August 06, 2014
The Audi A3 Sportback e-tron, the first plug-in hybrid offered in the brand from Ingolstadt's range, is finally on offer in over 400 dealerships. Only in Germany, 105 Audi dealers are prepared to sell the new model.

On the German market, the Audi A3 e-tron starts at 37,900 euro, and the first deliveries will take place in autumn. Audi is also offering attractive leasing conditions: 319 euro per month with a term of 36 months.

The German manufacturer has decided to sell the A3 e-tron only through certain dealers who will have special charging stations in car parks, staff trained to sell and to service that model, and technicians in diagnosing and repairing its hybrid system.

The e-tron version of the Audi A3 Sportback has a 1.4 TFSI powerplant, accompanied by an electric motor. Together they make up a hybrid system that delivers a total of 204 hp and announces a combined fuel consumption of only 1.5 liters per 100 km and CO2 emissions of 35 grams per kilometer.

Running in 100 percent electric mode, the model can travel up to 50 kilometers, while the mixed mode brings total autonomy to 900 kilometers. When using only the internal combustion engine, the A3 Sportback e-tron has a combined consumption of 4.5 liters per 100 km and CO2 emissions of 104 grams per kilometer.

A3 Sportback e-tron customers will be able to charge the car batteries at charging stations found at Audi sales centers even after the sale, free of charge, while other charges may be performed at centers dedicated to these vehicles.

On the German market, customers have the opportunity of mounting charging stations for this vehicle, which includes a full check of the customer's house electrical system provided by a trained service technician in this field.

Between mid-July and late August, Audi will train approximately 2,000 employees across Europe, at the Training Center near Munich. In addition, about 300 German technicians specialized in high voltage electricity and service advisors from Audi will conduct a technical training at Service Training Center in Neckarsulm.
Audi's German customers which use to this solution can change their tariff plan for electricity and may opt for "Audi energy", an option that provides electricity only from renewable sources using hydropower stations from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Audi has also developed a smartphone application for managing the A3 Sportback e-tron hybrid system. It displays the charge level, time required to charge and possible autonomy, at the moment when the application is interrogated.

"For Audi, the A3 Sportback e-tron marks another important step toward sustainable individual mobility. Our dealers have had an entirely positive response to the A3 Sportback e-tron, which shows that the combination of efficient drive technology and a sustainable energy source is really what the market is looking for" said Wayne Griffiths, Head of Sales Germany at Audi.

In addition, to mark the launch of the A3 Sportback e-tronf Audi launched an attractive "e-tron plus" package too. In Germany, this package includes a loading dock, a cable for public charging points, MMI navigation plus, Audi connect, and phone box.
