Aston Martin Valkyrie - Here's How 1,000 HP Look Like
|   Monday, July 03, 2017
Aston Martin Valkyrie is the name of the new British hypercar developed alongside Red Bull Advanced Technologies. Previously known as Aston Martin AM-RB Red Bull 001, that celebrated its European premiere in Geneva.
The term Valkyrie comes from Scandinavian Norse mythology and defines a female deity that decides the fate of the soldiers in a battle, namely those who are worthy of going to Valhalla.

Aston Martin Valkyrie is the new hyper car highly developed alongside Red Bull Advanced Technologies and was revealed for the first time in its final version.
The image of the new model will be tennis champion Serena Williams. Only 150 street units, and another 25 for the circuit, will be produced with the first deliveries to take place in 2019. The estimated price oscillates around 2-3 million pounds.

Aston Martin Valkyrie is a hybrid hypercar with rear wheel drive and a V12 aspirated engine with a displacement of 6.5 liters, and at least 1,000 HP, centrally mounted and developed by Cosworth. It will be coupled to a KERS energy recovery system, which will supplement the engine’s power, inspired by Formula 1.

Valkyrie is made with the best components suppliers in the automotive industry. Ultra-compact Li-Ion batteries will be delivered by Rimac. The automatic gearbox will have seven speeds and will be supplied by Ricardo. The ceramic brakes are produced by Alcon and Surface Transformers, Bosch will sign the engine ECU, traction control unit and ESP system, and 20-21 inch tires will wear the Michelin logo.

The empty weight will not exceed one ton, Valkyrie being built around a Mono Cell carbon fiber structure delivered by Multimac specialists. Thus, Valkyrie will display a perfect hp/kg ratio of 1: 1, going even faster than a Formula One car.
The key to the fabulous performances of the new hyper car is the revolutionary aerodynamics of the underbody panels, capable of generating an aerodynamic pressure of up to 1.8 tons, and lateral accelerations of 4 g or even 4.5 g.

Red Bull Racing head technical officer Adrian Newey declared that “Much like in Formula 1, designing, engineering and building a car like the Valkyrie is a massive team effort. To achieve great things you need to surround yourself with the best people.”

He continued: “Experience, creativity, energy, diligence and perfectionism are absolute must-have qualities in every area of the project. Having great technical partners such as those working with us is both reassuring and motivating. Together we aim to produce an innovative piece of engineering art.”

David King, Aston Martin vice president, said that “Making the Valkyrie presents huge challenges. It’s a real test of everyone involved, but that’s as it should be, for we’re genuinely raising the bar with this car. That’s what makes the project so special, and why having the right technical partners is so critical.”

“Some of those names we’re working with are long-standing suppliers of Aston Martin, but there are some new names in there, too. Whether forging fresh partnerships or building on existing relationships, this project is a shared engineering adventure that we’re all relishing.”
