Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster - Brand's Most Powerful Convertible
|   Sunday, July 20, 2014
Fans will no doubt want to know that Aston Martin just revealed the new V12 Vantage S Roadster model. When it will hit the market later this year the model will become the most powerful and fastest convertible in the brand's series after the coupe version was launched in 2013.

Offering the most visceral open-top experience from the current Aston Martin range, the new V12 Vantage S Roadster promises to be an agile sports car, a feature supported by the soundtrack generated by the naturally aspirated V12 engine and carefully modified exhaust system.

The most powerful convertible ever built by Aston Martin has a V12 engine rated 565 hp and 620 Nm of torque, mated to a seven-speed transmission Sportshift III. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is achieved in only 4.1 seconds, while the top speed is 323 km / h. Just 0.2 seconds differentiates the Coupe version from the Roadster, in the case of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S model.

Compared to the coupe the mass increased by 80 kg, totaling 1745 kg. The good news is that the new British roadster is 20 kg lighter than its predecessor, so this chapter is still a win.

The dynamic performances are supported by a set of Bilstein adaptive dampers, which have three modes of operation just as the dynamic stability control system has. The respective driving modes are: Normal, Sport and Track.

Once Sport mode is hooked it automatically changes the steering assistance system, and the sound made by the sport exhaust valves through the opening of the final drums is changed, derived in turn from those used by the One-77. Depending on the choice, the ABS will operate in one of two modes.

The level of standard equipment on the V12 Vantage S Roadster includes carbon-ceramic brake system to control the equipped horses on the convertible. The Q customization division from Aston Martin offers a wide range of materials and colors for customers of this model who might want something more than the carbon fiber trim and alloy wheels design with ten spokes package.

The V12 Vantage S Roadster includes a palette of bold exterior and interior colors, body colored carbon bonnet louvers, a red tint or a satin finish on the carbon fiber elements found on the exterior and interior of the car, a full carbon fiber centre console plus a black anodized and machined rotary controls and a steering wheel with a leather stripe in the desired interior accent.

"The new V12 Vantage S Roadster not only looks the part, but has been engineered and built to showcase the ethos of Aston Martin: power, beauty and soul. We believe that it is a truly exceptional sports car, with the capacity to set pulses racing just by its sound alone. The authentic appeal of its style, performance, quality and craftsmanship ensure its stands head and shoulders above others in its sector and delivers that most precious of experiences – fun – in abundance!" said Marek Reichman, Aston Martin Director of Design.

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage S will go on sale later this year but prices will be announced when the release date approached.
