Aston Martin To Present 3 DB9 S and V8 Vantage Special Editions
|   Friday, February 28, 2014
Aston Martin has announced 3 special editions of its models at the Geneva Motor Show. The first is inspired by motorsports, and is called the V8 Vantage N430. It will be available in both coupe and roadster version.

This model will use the V8 Vantage S motorization of 436 hp (a 4.7 liter V8 engine with enhanced power), which is teamed with a six-speed manual transmission, or an optional automatic transmission offered with shorter reports. All that power is sent to the rear axle as expected.

Being inspired by the motorsport special edition, the V8 Vantage N430 brings many elements of carbon fiber and lighter alloy wheels than the standard model. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 km/h) takes place in 4.6 seconds, and the top speed is capped at 190 mph (306 km/h).

"N430 is all about bringing track-honed excitement to the road in an accessible, emotionally engaging, and authentically ‘analogue' way. The dynamic exhilaration of Vantage is the perfect complement to the eye-catching looks of the N430," said Ian Minards, Director of Product Development at Aston Martin, in regards to the new car.

Inside, the N430 will use Kevlar seats in order to reduce the total mass. To further that goal, the paddle shifters were made of magnesium and numerous other elements benefit from carbon fiber trim. The whole package is perfected in a color combination inspired by the CC100 Speedster concept, belonging to the same brand. Optionally, the customers can delight their ears with a 1,000 watts Bang & Olufsen sound system.

The other two special editions Aston Martin scheduled for launch at the Geneva Motor Show focus on the DB9 model. These two models are called Carbon Black and Carbon White, and present a strong contrast between the carbon fiber trim and the bodywork color. As the name suggests, they will arrive with white and dark themes, mixed together with a bunch of carbon fiber components

Regardless of the chosen color, the DB9 receives forged 20-inch wheels. To achieve an overall weight as low as possible, carbon fiber was used for the front splitter, the air diffuser and mirror caps are also made of carbon fiber.

The two special editions of the DB9 will see a powerful V12 engine displacing 6.0 liters, that provides 517 hp and 620 Nm. 4.6 seconds are necessary for the Aston Martin DB9 Carbon to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h.

Aston Martin Design Director, Marek Reichman, said this about the 2 models: "The classic DB9 Carbon Black and daring DB9 Carbon White special editions give this timeless GT a fresh and highly desirable new appearance. Meanwhile, the exciting details that define N430 should leave no one in any doubt about the car's motorsport roots. Bold graphic treatments and the option of vivid color combinations conjure up clear visual echoes of the race circuit."
