Aston Martin Showcases the Vanquish Volante Coupe and Convertible
|   Monday, July 01, 2013
Aston Martin has revealed the latest model of the Vanquish Volante which sports a base price of £200,000. The Vanquish was the first open top vehicle from Aston Martin and this name has been in existence for the past 100 years. The Vanquish Volante replaces the Aston Martin DBS Volante GT and the vehicle has a tough challenge establishing itself in place of the already established DBS Volante GT.

The Vanquish Volante is capable of similar performance figures as its predecessor and takes 4.
seconds to accelerate from 0 – 60 MPH. The Vanquish Volante sports a top speed of 183 MPH, while the boot space of the Vanquish Volante has been increased by over 50 percent as compared to the DBS Volante. The roof has been designed to enhance the aerodynamics of the vehicle as well as reduce the overall weight.

The 6.0 liter V12 engine powering the Volante displaces 565 BHP @ 6750 RPM while a peak torque of 457 ft lb @ 5500 RPM is achieved. The Vanquish Volante is a rear wheel driven car and the rear axle gets the power through a six speed automatic transmission system. The retractable roof line opens and closes within 14 seconds and can be operated even while the vehicle is moving.

Aston Martin officials say that the Vanquish Volante will be able to live up to the expectations of the customers as it does not feature a large weight gap. The Vanquish Volante has been designed on the VH platform by Aston Martin and the light weight aluminum and carbon fiber technology used in the car is similar to the technology used in advanced space frame research.

The Vanquish Volante is more torsion rigid as compared to the DBS Volante and is a better handler. Some notable changes have been made to this vehicle and these are expected to enhance the way the Vanquish Volante drives. The cabin features sufficient space to accommodate 2 + 2 while the interior has been completely overhauled. The switch gear and center console are the only things intact although the change is for the better.

Chassis modifications enhance the drive feel of the Vanquish Volante and also enhance the way this car performs over asphalt. Aston Martin is offering three drive modes namely Track, Sport and Normal and the gear shift ratio, steering column and suspension is adjusted accordingly. This vehicle also monitors the road conditions and distributes power to the front and rear axles accordingly. A host of electronic assistance measures also help the driver control the car in a better manner as well as creates a strong profile between the driver and the machine.

Deliveries are expected to begin this year while the base price starts at £199,995. Aston Martin is quite confident about the success the Vanquish Volante is expected to achieve and the engineers are confident of the way this vehicle performs in real world conditions. It is a treat to be behind the wheels of a Vanquish Volante Coupe or Convertible and both provide almost equal performance.
