Aston Martin Reveals the DBS Coupe and the DB9 Zagato Editions
|   Tuesday, July 23, 2013
Aston Martin plans on celebrating its centenary in style. Italian coachbuilders Zagato is currently designing two special edition Aston Martins to celebrate the occasion in style. The Aston Martin DB9 Spider Centennial was first commissioned by Peter Read, a renowned car collector and this car is special as it tales designing cues from the legendary DB7 Zagato.

Insiders reveal that the Aston Martin DB9 Zagato Centennial is the best example of British and Italian designing blends and engineering and designing heads from both firms have trooped in to form the best looking car from Aston Martin till date.
This is an iconic partnership and the elegance, design, prestige and power of this vehicle is unmatchable amongst other Aston Martins. The second new Zagato designed Aston Martin is the DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial and has been commissioned by a Japanese car collector.

This vehicle features a sleep exterior along with a double bubble roof which gives the car a suave feel. Both these vehicles look pretty although their performance figures are one of the strongest yet. The designing team from Zagato commented that redesigning a vehicle which was already revered and near perfect was a challenging and difficult job although the team had fun innovating and playing with the already lucid lines on the exterior.

The team had to be very careful in order to preserve the heritage of the car and considering the fact that this was an Aston Martin, the job got the more difficult. However, the challenge was taken sportingly and together both these vehicles have a complete aesthetic value. The cars resemble Mediterranean GTs and the heritage of the sports cars has been heightened further.

The major challenge facing the designing team was to bring a more sporty edge to the car while balancing it with luxury was quite the challenge. The DB4 Zagato was the first vehicle to be redesigned by the luxury Italian designers and since, most of the vehicles in the DB lineup have been designed by Zagato. The V12 Zagato is the current leader in the lineup when it comes to power while the DB7 Zagato and the V8 Zagato follow in the lineup.

Aston Martins are one of the most beautiful vehicles on road today and the company has a huge history of manufacturing efficient and beautiful cars in the past. Irrespective of what people may think, the new cars have a suave edge to the design which distinguishes it from most of the other cars in the lineup. The Aston Martin A3 - which first came into production back in 1932 - was also showcased at Kensington Garden along with the CC100 Speedster Concept.

The event was fairly successful while the real crowd pullers were the historic Aston Martins. Details of the event will be out shortly and pictures will be uploaded soon. We sincerely hope that Zagato and Aston Martin plan on forging a serious relationship and design production models. This will be the real deal for the future of Aston Martin.
