Aston Martin Rapide Shooting Brake - A One of a Kind Vehicle
|   Thursday, May 30, 2013
The Jet 2 + 2 - better known as the Aston Martin Shooting Brake - is the talking point at the moment. This vehicle was recently introduced to the market and features a unique design which distinguishes it from most major car makers. This is a simple yet conventional design created by Bertone with the customers with a deep pocket, especially an Aston Martin collector – Mr. Barry Weir.

Even though this vehicle was a one off order, especially manufactured for their revered customer, Aston Martin is reportedly happy with the project, so much so that the company plans on manufacturing a road car based on the Bertone.
However, under such circumstances, just 10 units will be manufactured which will help it retain its Limited Edition status. However, the moment one looks at a Shooting Brake, the visual sharpness of the vehicle gets to one's mind.

The styling on this vehicle is very raw, matured yet specific and it looks right from every angle. In fact the car looks so original, it is a shame it did not come out of the designers in house. The estimated price of one such vehicle is expected to be close to the £1.5 Million mark and it will be a surprise if Aston Martin lets these vehicles go or any less.

Power is expected to be generated by a petrol V12 engine displacing 470 BHP and some of the mechanical components of this vehicle have been lifted off the Rapide. The rear wheel drive train along with the chassis is also similar to that of the Rapide. Designers claim that they had to tear the car apart and reassemble it piece by piece.

The Rapide Shooting Brake is a very beautiful ride and it has the required elegance that will force one to submit before its charm. The interior is quite spacious and has more room as compared to a standard Rapide even though the vehicle is barely a few millimeters longer than the standard version. Luggage space is also enhanced and this calls for the perfect vacation vehicle.

Aston Martin has placed the Shooting Brake in such a segment that it practically has no competition. This vehicle is highly refined and a pleasure to drive. The exhaust note is appealing and loud with a deep growl. This is exactly what is needed in a Million pound vehicle. The Rapide Shooting Brake should not disappoint considering the fact that Aston Martin is at the top of its game when it comes to manufacturing top end vehicles.

The steering is also quite smooth and there is minimal body roll. The vehicle is nice to drive and the seating arrangement is very comfortable. It truly is a one of a kind vehicle. At the moment, it is quite impossible to buy a Shooting Brake as it is already sold out, although you could always be content with reading the road test review of the vehicle. It should be pretty good on road and recent developments will be revealed.
