Aston Martin Does a Classy Job with the Vantage V12
|   Wednesday, July 10, 2013
The Aston Martin Vantage V12 is officially the fastest production vehicle from Aston Martin yet. The company claims that this vehicle is capable of reaching a tops speed of 205 MPH while accelerating from 0 - 60 MPH within 3.9 seconds. However, the Aston Martin One 77 is the only vehicle which is currently faster than the Vantage V12 but that does not count at the moment as the One 77 has not yet entered production.

The Vantage V12 sports a premium price package of £138,000 while the standard Vantage is priced at £136,085.
This is a modest increase and should not pose a real threat to any of the vehicles while maintaining the integrity and purpose of both vehicles. Some of the modifications on the Vantage V12 include an all new grille, a powerful 565 BHP displacing V12 engine, adaptive dampers along with decrease in the overall weight.

The engine is mated to a seven speed automatic transmission system although a six speed manual transmission system is available as an option. The Vantage V12 offers more power and performance as compared to its cousin although the vehicle is equally usable. People who have witnessed the power and brutality of the Vantage V12 have fallen in love with the car instantly.

The designers at Aston Martin wanted to give the Vantage V12 a wide aspect when it came to sales and usability and the team has been fairly successful considering the result. The Vantage V12 sports three drive mode namely Track, Sport and Normal and selecting any one of these mode will change the transmission, engine, suspension and damper settings. Normal mode is perfect for street driving, while the Track mode lowers the suspension hence crisping up handling while Sport Mode enables the motor to kick in maximum power.

The Vantage V12 is powered by the latest 5.9 liter V12 engine designed by Aston Martin and this is the fourth generation engine, earlier versions of which has been used to power the DBS Volante, Rapide S and the DB9. This engine displaces 556 BHP which is sufficiently high considering range and class.

Torque is quite well balanced and this reduces wheel spin. The body is well balanced and the car feels confident in to curves. Aston Martin has managed to hit the right cords with the Vantage V12 and this vehicle holds an upper hand as compared to the base model of the Vantage. The steering wheel mounted paddle shifts do an excellent job and the controls are well within the reach of the driver.

The overall ride quality has been enhanced while driving this vehicle feels smooth and comfortable at all times. The Vantage V12 is an excellent and effortlessly easy to drive vehicle. Aston Martin plans on selling this vehicle in Europe, America and parts of China. The engine is well exploited and the power shifted to the axle effortlessly. The reduction in 25 kg of weight helps the car maintain its momentum while the transmission system is works effortlessly.
