An Eventful Day at the Monaco Grand Prix
|   Monday, June 03, 2013
Nico Rosberg, the man behind the wheels of the car designed by Mercedes, was in complete control of an eventful day at the tracks of the Monaco Grand Prix. Rosberg won the event exactly 30 years after his father had done the same on the same famous street stretch. However, the events were not as simple as they used to be and cover ups, secret vehicle and tire tests marred the experience of the race this year.

Mercedes conducted a secret tire testing event along with Pirelli prior to the race in Spain and rivals Ferrari and Red Bull have registered a complaint as they see the tire tests on a 2013 model Formula One vehicle to be contradictory to the rules and regulations set up by the Federation, although legally, the complaint is yet to be addressed and probed.

Mercedes continued with its great form on road and Rosberg was impressive on both the practice and qualifying laps. Teammate Lewis Hamilton also gave a fitting performance and came in front of mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel in the ranking chart. At the final event, both Roseberg and Hamilton came in first and second spot respectively while Rosberg seemed to be at the control of the race at any point of the track.

McLaren did not have such a smooth run at the Monaco track with their drivers Sergio Perez and Jenson Button having almost crashed into each other. However, no such calamity occurred although the event proved to be quite dramatic and eventful. The Mercedes cars performed great on track while the skilled drivers are known for their control and precision. Mercedes seems to have finally hit the right chord with their car which seems to b responding well to their drivers.

This is however premature as a few other races need to be witnessed in order to come to a final decision. Force India also had a great day at Monaca with both drivers coming in the top 10 spot in the leader board. The competition was tough while the driver's had to face some serious competition. The ride was no quite smooth for Räikkönen whose rear tire deflated in the middle of the run which forced him to the 10th spot.

Perez faced a suspension issue which forced him to slow down at crucial points to avaoid an accident and that too played a major role in his poor performance. The Monaco Grand Prix 2013 faced many glitches and this was not the best performance given by the individual drivers. However, the race completed without any accidents and that is the best part about the event.

We hope for more eventful days at the track this season but the lack of accidents is highly appreciated. The track and weather conditions on all event days were perfect although the same cannot be said for the future events. However, fans are waiting for more action on the scene and the drivers are giving their best to achieve success.
