AMG Tuned Mercedes Benz A45 has True Potential
|   Tuesday, July 02, 2013
AMG has designed a rather unusual product in the form of the Mercedes Benz A45. This small car should not have been the perfect choice to modify as Mercedes Benz manufactures better and more potential vehicles when compared to A45. However, this was a challenging modification as it required the perfect amount of juice to spice up the basic drive feel.

The A45 AMG is powered by a 2.0 liter turbo charged petro engine displacing 355 BHP although the standard A45 displaces a mere 175 BHP.
This proves the ultimate engineering capacity held by the engineers at AMG Performance Works. The A45 AMG however does not come cheap and sports a price tag of £40,000. The A34 AMG hatch back gets a new front end, complete with head lamps and a bumper and this uplifts the original blunt feel of the car.

The steering column is also rumored to have been enhanced and this should be a welcome change from the dull handling of the standard A45. AMG has literally turned the A45 heads up and this is a great thing as long as the vehicle consumes less amount of fuel. The A45 AMG surprisingly 40.9 MPG which is sufficient considering the sports aspect related to the car.

The mechanical components have been heavily modified and these include a new transmission system along with suspension modifications made to the car. The A45 AMG is surprisingly a four wheel drive car as opposed to its standard version while the engine is mated to a 4Matic system. The interior features carbon fiber stitches while the components are adjustable and comfortable. The A45 AMG has a steady level of stiffness and chassis strength and is quite impressive to handle and drive.

The in line four cylinder engines on the A45 AMG is a treat to drive and this vehicle is perfect for the youth. Mercedes Benz will soon hit sufficient demand in the market once the initial blues are crossed. The engine red lines near the 6500 RPM mark while perfect acceleration is achieved near the 2000 RPM mark.

The A45 AMG accelerates from 0 – 60 MPH within 4.6 seconds and literally glides over asphalt every time the pedal is floored. The seven speed automatic transmission system mated to the car does its job perfectly and is quite efficient in handling the vehicle. Downshifting can be quite reluctant at times and this tends to be problematic in some areas. The A45 AMG finds tough competition from the Lotus Evora S, Ford Focus ST and the Nissan GTR.

Body roll is completely absent and this makes for a fun yet comfortable ride. AMG is also offering customizable performance options and this should prove to be the perfect thing that the customers are looking forward at the moment. However, the Mercedes Benz A45 AMG has the stability like none in its class and segment and is hence undoubtedly the best among the range offered. The chassis is quite steady and perfect for high strenuous activity, including high speed.
