Alpina B6 goes on its first run

Looking for a car with a twin-turbo D3 with six cylinders which can live with the likes of a BMW M3 in a line as straight as scale and yet give a return track of above 50mpg simultaneously?

Well, then you should be in terms with the rumour about the next big thing from Alpina. About the new B6 there is a lot to be spoken. Everything can be expressed as large when we talk about this piece of machinery from the assembly lines of Alpina.

A 4.
litre twin-turbo V8 engine sits underneath its bonnet which has the capability to produce a 532bhp ranging from 5200 to 6250rpm accompanied by a herculean 538 pound ft at just about 2800rpm.

The gearbox appears to be a slightly tweaked edition of the ZF eight speed automatic which was used in the 6-series. The gearbox on this edition has been enhanced by the engineers of Alpina to enable it to avoid up shifts in certain modes which might prove to be handy on a circuit and could also be useful to cut the fuel flow for a short span of time and conduct the delivery of a lovely burble in between gearshifts with ease.

Alpina has preened the chassis of the car for providing a much wider range in their set ups as compared to the BMW 6-Series. As a result the quality of comfort that you experience during a ride in the Comfort mode is supposed to be a much of a softer variety than what a BMW regular automobile would provide.

Coming to the other modes of rides it provides, the Sport and the Sport Plus mode of the models give a list of different customizations with the presence of electrically handled dampers to subsequently sharpen up the driving experience provided to the driver to a certain level that would be a difficult to come in terms with for a regular BMW driver.

A philosophy of similar sorts applies when we discuss about the panning of interiors for the automobile mentioned about. Here you are most likely to find the quality of leather upgraded to a certainly higher level than the limits of a BMW factory. In addition to that is a set of whole new seats and dials that are custom-built for the B6 version of the Alpina.

Despite the modifications made in the chassis of the car, when on the move, this car always feels like a car that is fairly large than what is described in pen and paper about its dimensions. Be it in any speed and in any random engine gear, the torque this car has the ability to produce at any instant makes the car feel extremely rapid on the road.

It is truly epic how the energy flow of the car is smoothly handled by the transmission. An over the top view reckons this car to be more of a cruiser pertaining to high speed than be graded as a sports car.
