All new Ford Taurus will be launched at the beginning of 2014
|   Thursday, September 19, 2013
Firstly released on the market in 1985, Ford Taurus has been upgraded and modified throughout the time but still remained one of the most popular sedans on the American market. Rumor has it that due to the slightly diminished sales in 2007, the Taurus model has been modified into an improved and totally restyled version – Ford Five Hundred.

Due to the fact that it did not actually reach the anticipated and expected sales, the Ford Five Hundred has been pulled out and the revived Taurus has been projected and redesigned instead.

The newly improved Taurus which adopted a highly changed strategy has been released in 2013 and it definitely featured a refreshed and innovative new look.
We could assume that the 2014 model is going to be a total blast if we take into account the success of the previously released model. Next year, the Ford fans will be able to choose between three different trim levels available: Limited, SE and SEL and the starting price which has been confirmed so far is $27,495.

The exterior design of the upcoming vehicle from Ford has a lean overall line which has bee improved with a pair of totally restyled headlamps matched with an elegant trapezoidal grille. Also, on the front, the bumper has been totally changed and the taillights are now equipped with even larger LED lights. Although, kept from the 2013 model, all these options have now been included on the 2014 model and they look really good together.

One of the differences between the 2013 and the 2014 model is that the new one will feature a SYNC system which will include the MyFord Touch replacing all the series of buttons. The LCD screen is going to display whatever info the driver considers necessary and, what is eve more, it will also include a voice command.

All these high tech options make the difference between the Taurus generations. However, out of the all three versions available the Ford Taurus Limited is the one which offers the largest range of exclusive interior options and design. It will include all of the options on the SEL model and some extra others such as dual zone electronic automatic temperature control, super updated ambient lighting, woodgrain trim interior and also steering wheel in wood and leather.

The performance details released so far reveal a 2.0 liter EcoBoost engine which makes the vehicle capable of reaching 240 horsepower. It has been highly appreciated the choice of a EcoBoost engine as it is able to reduce the fuel economy with up to 32 mpg. The other version of the engine is a 3.5 liter one which will be able to deliver 288 horsepower and reach a 29 mpg fuel economy on the highway.

Mainly competing with Chevrolet Malibu which has been equipped with an EcoTec 2.5 liter, four cylinder engine, the 2014 Ford Taurus has actually been considered a bit rusty in appearance but throughout the newly redesigned technology it will definitely represent a good option.
