Alfa Romeo bagged four awards recently with its 4C and the sixth series vehicles – the 1750 GS and the 1750 6C models. The event was the iconic Concorso di Eleganza in Villa d'Este. It is a very prestigious auto show and has been supporting and celebrating the best vehicles from history for quite some time now.

The Alfa Romeo 1750 GS also managed to win the d'Oro award, the most popular car – by voters' choice. It is a referendum by Villa d'Este and the award was presented apart from the one presented by the jury.

The car which was on display was a very rare car designed by the Figoni coach builders and was showcased for the first time in Paris in the year 1933. Hence, the heritage of the model is beyond question.

The car was showcased in several other car shows and events in the past and has also won many accords by it. A light weight version of the car raced the 24 hour Le Mans back in 1935. From 1929 to 1935, Alfa Romeo manufactured a number of high performance vehicles and several other upgraded models of the same for the race track as well as for street use.
The first and foremost among them was the 1750 6C. The 6C tag meant that the car had 6Cylinders displacing 1752 cc. Designed by designer Vittorio Jano, the 1750 6C was first showcased in Paris in 1929. The car became an instant hit with the race enthusiasts and car lovers.

The 1750 6C was modified in the future and the car went through six upgrades. The car had a basic chassis, with a two seat body. The basic part of the car was sold in this format. It was the starting age of the automobile era and hence the cars were very basic. Even in those times Alfa Romeo managed to be a pioneer by introducing some of the leading car models.

Alfa Romeo was awarded the Design Award for the 4C and the 6C models as they were the best concept cars and prototypes present at the Villa d'Este. The 4C was a true sports car in all aspects while the 8C Spider and the 8C Competizione further established Alfa Romeo as a sports car maker in the world.

The Alfa Romeo 4C was a true Italian racing car, with a basic strong chassis, powerful engine and technical advancements. Driving the car was a pleasure back in those days and the car was very popular among the car lovers.

The 4C, the 1750 GS and 1750 6C was the true driver's car of the era and owning one was a matter of style, prestige and honor back in the days. The concept vehicle presents the classic vehicle in a modernized version, with an approx 4 m long chassis, a centrally placed engine and a low wheel base of 2.4 m.

These dimensions made the car rather small and hence helped the car's handling. This also made the car more agile and hence more race track friendly.
