2016 Seat's Crossover to get launched in Geneva Auto Show
|   Thursday, March 12, 2015
It is now confirmed that Seat is going to launch its new Crossover to rival against Nissan's Qashqai in Geneva Auto Show which will be held in next week. There are no official details revealed regarding this model but few of its images have been leaked and released. From these images, it is clear that the guess about this model adopting IBX concept of 2011 is correct. Seat has announced that they will launch this car in showrooms in 2016.

While testing in South Europe, some reporters have snapped a few photos of this model.
It will feature five doors showing better standard than expectation. The development is still under process as they want to improve its chassis before manufacturing. After its first review at Geneva more information will be updated.

Previously it was spotted with a lot of claddings in Alps. It was fully developed and its body was wearing exact design work from Leon hatchback. However, its front design was a lot larger than Leon. It will follow the platform of MQB of VW group and will be produced by its sister brand that is Skoda in Czech Republic.

Jurgen Stackmann, the CEO of Seat said that the new SUV from their firm is not going to have any relation with Leon's name; in fact this model has a footprint looking closure to that of Spanish maker's hatchback. He also said that the company is looking to make another Cupra version as well. Currently engineers are undergoing through researches regarding its sporty look and engine specification. Though its SUV is still very sporty as compared to other SUVs of this class but fans expect more from them; so they will include more sports features in it.

Seat has finished the design part of their new Crossover as confirmed by chief designer Alejandro Romanos. He agreed that it will look like an elder brother of Leon. Its design is based on MQB golf platform which is a full size model created at Martorell studio of Seat. Even though many of its decisions have been finalized but its final name has not been decided yet or they don't want to reveal it before its preview at Geneva Auto Show 2015.

Jurgen Stackman, the boss of Seat said that choosing a new style of new Crossover of their firm is a move towards giving more importance to crafts and a great body structure. He has made sure that once the model goes on to sail, there will be a lot of volumes. It is expected to hit 10 percent of total sold cars only in Europe.

Launching SUV is a great plan by Seat as SUVs sales in 2013 was up to 355,000 units. In future, this number will be increased for sure. It will focus on key markets like UK more than other countries. This will allow the company to sale expected amount of numbers or even more than that. As per Seat, probable numbers of 100,000 units of SUVs will be manufactured and sold by 2016.
