2015 Subaru WRX Taken for a Spin
|   Friday, December 20, 2013
Subaru has come up with its latest variant of the WRX – the 2015 WRX. Even though this vehicle may not look much of a stunner (various components have been lifted off its predecessor), it is still every bit the daring off roader that it used to be. To top it all off, Subaru has installed various tech features aimed at enhancing its driver assist technology. This is every bit a car which anyone would want to take for a spin on off road conditions, but it could also be used for a trip to the mall.

The WRX has a diverse fan base while people across all age groups seem to have a weakness for this vehicle. Even though it is not as potent as a CRF or a Raptor, it is good value for money as well as returns decent fuel economy. It is also a sedan, which makes it more suitable for urban conditions. It requires a smaller turn radius and parking space as opposed to its competitors.

Subaru plans on designing a rally cross variant based on this vehicle and it should be its latest Impreza. Although we are yet to gain official confirmation regarding this rumor, we guess that should be Subaru's actual path at the moment as this vehicle is quite an off road monster. We could also be looking at an STI variant quite soon although its base variant should be more popular owing to its reduced price tag.

Global economy is not at its best point right now and this as a result is affecting car sales Subaru is well aware of the scenario and is hence working on launching the 2015 WRX on mass scale. This vehicle has potential in American markets although Europe is the next big market segment apart from home ground. A few additions have been made to this vehicle and they include more comfortable seating, better paddle shifter, authoritative exhaust note etc.

Even though this may not sound sufficient, it is the best in class at the moment. We were lucky enough to take a ride in this classy off roader. We were quite surprised actually at how well this vehicle handles on road. Subaru has worked hard on making this vehicle perfect for individual scenarios while a turbocharged engine mated to a CVT transmission system helps maintain power displacement at an optimum level. Traction has improved so has body balance, although suspension settings need to be changed if you intend to use this vehicle solely on road.

However, there is a tiny possibility of that happening at all and hence as a result it is better to stick to factory tuned settings. Subaru however has gone through a lot to adjust its suspension and they deserve credit for that. Cornering with this vehicle is a little different than your conventional sports vehicle but then again it is good at a dozen other stuffs. Therefore, it is best to accept this vehicle as it holds massive potential.
