2015 Hyundai Sonata Unveiled at the New York Motor Show
|   Monday, April 21, 2014
Hyundai has officially showcased their 2015 Sonata at the New York Motor Show. This vehicle features Hyundai's latest Fluidic Design 2.0, which is expected to run greater lines along the length of the body, which makes vehicles more aerodynamic and visually aesthetic. Similar lines were showcased on their Genesis Coupe at Detroit, earlier this year, although exterior design on both vehicles is not similar in any form.

The three main additions made to their vehicles, according to a senior representative at Mazda are – introduction of premium ambience, modern looks and fluidic aesthetics.
This is the seventh generation Sonata from Hyundai, which can be viewed as America's version of an i40. This mid-sized saloon will be built in Alabama, United States and should go on sale by summer 2014. New design elements reduce drag coefficient to a measly 0.27, which is the lowest in any current passenger saloon.

Insiders claim an increase in torsion rigidity by over 41 percent, which is great news for the performance seekers. Use of high tensile steel has made this transition possible. Hyundai's Sonata is a large car by EPA regulations, which is in charge of fuel efficiency and emission in America. Passenger segment cars are popular in Germany, China, America and Japan and Hyundai claims to cater to these countries in general.

A range of safety measures have been added to this vehicle, including blind spot detection, Radar cruise control, rear cross traffic alert, DAB radio, iPod connectivity, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and Satellite Navigation. A 400 Watt audio system is also in place, while specific Apple connectivity can be installed on request. Apple's advanced CanPlay option will be included by year end, as standard.

Power is displaced by a four cylindered 2.4 liter naturally aspirated engine, displacing 185 BHP and mated to a standard six speed transmission system. A four cylindered 2.0 liter turbo charged engine displacing 245 BHP, along with 265 ft lb of torque is also in place. Both engine options are based on their current generation engines, although major modifications have been made, to help them keep up with time.

Both engines have also been tweaked for low range RPM, which makes them perfect for urban cruising. A hybrid variant is also expected in the near future, although official comments are yet to arrive. Hyundai's Sonata is a very popular vehicle in America and suitable modifications have been made to enhance its life span by a few more years. Even though there is nothing exceptionally sweet about general exterior design, this vehicle manages to hold its own ground in class.

A completely digital instrument cluster is in place, along with a TFT screen that has been mounted between gauges for best results. Driving the new model will be a completely new experience as compared to its out-going model, as technical and mechanical changes have been made to lend individuality to this machine. We will get back to you with additional details and drive test reviews, as soon as Hyundai makes them available.
