2015 Ford Super Duty Truck Spied With a Massive 6.7 Liter Supercharged Engine
|   Sunday, September 29, 2013
Ford introduced an all new 6.7 liter turbo charged V8 diesel engine into its lineup as it was launching a latest F Series Super Duty pickup truck at the ongoing Texas State Fair this week. The list of vehicles showcased at this event was huge although the biggest member of the fraternity was Ford's heavy duty beast. Ford showcased a revised version of its Super Duty King Ranch and this vehicle was given a Texas touch on the occasion.

This freshened version of the Super Duty King Ranch is based on a new super light yet strong chassis and frame along with a renewed suspension.
19.5 inch rims are provided as standard while wider rims and wheels give this truck a wider feel. However, it is the powerhouse behind the car which draws primary attention from the crowd.

The current version of Ford's V8 engine block is capable of displacing 400 BHP along with 800 ft lb of torque, while industry experts believe in supped up figures for its next generation cousin. Ford is however reluctant to reveal its power figures at this moment and we believe Ford will reveal technical details within the next few months. However, insiders at Ford were kind enough to tell us about a new turbo charging unit inside the engine.

This engine gets a new GT37 turbocharger with an 88 millimeter compressor unit. This will be replacing its last generation GT32 compressor unit. Increased pressure is bound to increase engine performance. Hence, we can easily see where Ford is going with this build. Its latest range of Eco Boost engines had drawn massive criticism from industry professional and hence Ford designed this engine block to show people that they still had what it took to build big blocks.

The use of a larger turbocharger also has a second use; it can be used more efficiently in higher altitudes when the air pressure falls. This means that the new Super Duty range of trucks fro9m Ford, powered by this engine range will actually be more fuel efficient and powerful as their current generation counterparts. This is a strategic move as Ford is trying to capture a larger market share in global markets, Europe being likely on the list.

The fuel pump and fuel delivery system have also been replaced, which calls for better performance. The new injection system is expected to run better while burning a maximum part of the fuel. This as a result ensures more fuel efficiency, higher power displacement along with enhanced refinement. Roughly two percent of Ford's Super Duty trucks, sold across America, feature Power stroke diesel engines while Ford plans on increasing the efficiency of these engines to increase global sales.

Some of the exterior modifications on these trucks include rear drive line U joints, front and rear lamps, increased aerodynamics as well as stronger fenders. These make the trucks look aggressive while enhancing their usability. Ford should enjoy a free run in this market segment with their range of vehicles.
