2014 Range Rover Sport Tested on Road
|   Thursday, October 10, 2013
Range Rover has treaded into risky territory with its latest Range Rover Sport replacement. This vehicle has been one of the best selling cars so far since its remodeling but Range Rover plans on making certain changes to this vehicle. This is possible only via a suitable upgrade, which has been done in its 2014 vehicle. Range Rover has put its Sport on a diet and this new vehicle is actually 420 kg lighter than its predecessor.

Jaguar Land Rover has built this vehicle around a more flexible and uncomplicated twin rail chassis, which guarantees more flexibility while building a better vehicle.
A lot of fanfare was generated around this car initially when rumors surfaced although much of it has died down ever since Jaguar land Rover officially confirmed this vehicle.

Land Rover planned to give SUVs a new definition with the Evoque. This however was not what the Sport was all about. Range Rover Sport was designed to be a bad boy. It can be your everyday urban car while working simultaneously on dangerous and treacherous mountain roads. Jaguar Land Rover was desperate to make a comeback in the SUV segment, which was dominated by Porsche's Cayenne along with other major German players such as BMW, Audi, Mercedes Benz and Bentley.

Jaguar Land Rover played its cars sufficiently well and added every necessary detail which was needed to give its vehicle a twist in the market. Design wise, Range Rover Sport is unmistakably similar to its predecessor, although insiders claim various upgrades have taken place. On road, these upgrades come in handy. Performance wise, major improvements can be felt as this vehicle is a lot easier to handle on road.

Use of advanced performance enhancing technology and Stability control measures makes the Sport an oversized hatchback when it comes to handling. This vehicle is powered by a 3.0 liter SDV6 engine displacing 288 BHP, which is slightly lower than what its ancestor used to make. However, this engine is more eco friendly while burning less fuel for more power. Hence, fuel economy is guaranteed.

This may not be such a bad thing considering the current crude price. Entry level vehicles are available in two and all wheel drive while we would recommend the all wheel drive train if you live in high terrains. In other cases, two wheel drive works just fine and saves you money while making the purchase. Exterior style wise, this car may not set your heartbeat racing, but when it comes to performance, it sure will.

Standard 19 inch rims have been used on this vehicle while optional 21 inch is also available. Range Rover has worked really hard on this machine and this is relevant in the Sport. The company have come a long way since ownership change and is making fast progress in terms of vehicle designing, production and sales. We surely hope to catch up with newer vehicles soon while keeping you posted about latest information regarding the 2014 Range Rover Sport.
