2014 Lexus CT 200h, the literal facelift car
|   Wednesday, December 04, 2013
When it comes to automobile manufacturing, Lexus is one of the less consistent name. It is less consistent in sense that there are not many periodic releases, updates, or even facelift offered by this company. So once a car from Lexus enters production, there is a less chance of it going back to re designing and stuff.

However, there has been an exception very recently in Guangzhou Motor Show, where Lexus released their new 2014 Lexus CT 200h, which is a face lifted version of their already available car, and it is going to be launched in United States of America in first quarter of 2014.

First good thing about this re release is that base price of this car remains quite similar to the price on which it was offered before this facelift. It is somewhere in vicinity of 32 thousand dollars, and there are some additional charges for handling and transportation for when this car is going to go on sale in United States of America.

As far as interior of exterior is concerned, this car looks much better than previous one. There have been some major design changes in exterior of this car which makes it look much more lean and slick. Interior of this car remains almost unchanged, but still, there are some subtle differences with previous model of this car.

Powertrain of this car remains absolutely unaltered. It is still the combination of a 1.8 liter engine with four cylinders and also a 650 volt motor which will be driving this car. Power output of 134 horsepower also remains unchanged. Even other things like continuously variable suspension and rating on carryover also remains absolutely same, so there is no up gradation in terms of drive train whatsoever.

Changes to exterior of this car are wide. First thing to notice is the new design of front of this car. It is a pointier look, with a new bumper and also a new grille. There is, however, debate that whether its looks better or not. Also, new 17 inch alloy wheels gives this car a strength feel and sturdy look.

Even rear license plate has got a new LED lighting. LED daytime lights seem to be a highlight of this new design for 2014 Lexus CT 200h. Fog lamps surrounds of this car has also been updated. There is also addition of aero stabilizing wheels and a bigger rear spoiler.

Interiors of this car have suffered from minor boosts. A few additional options have been included. Steering wheels and other controls have been made easier to access and easier to control. Things like audio systems and multimedia features have seen some minor up gradation.

From these changes, it looks as though Lexus has made an attempt to please the eye without improving much about this whole car. Neither power nor performance of this car has changed. Comfort also remains quite the same. So it turns out to be a literal, and not a metaphorical face lift.
