2014 Ford Focus Spotted Testing in Nurburgring
|   Monday, October 14, 2013
Ford's latest version of the Focus has been spotted testing on road at Nürburgring. This is the 2014 Ford Focus and just like any other test mule from Ford, it features a larger than usual exterior. Large front grille makes this vehicle look more like an Aston Martin, although this is where the similarities end. Both these vehicles have a class of their own and hence cannot be compared even for a second.

These spy shots showcase bare bones of the grille as Ford did not want to spoil the surprise by showcasing the final exterior touches just yet.
This twofold grille design is considerably new for Ford and could be showcased in future models if they get sufficient backing from buyers. Shape of the upper grille is large as compared to its lower end and number plate holding.

Minor modifications to its side panels and rear lamps are also evident. This however is not seen on its test mule although experts believe Ford will put them up on its production ready version. This vehicle was spotted testing along with a few other prototypes from Ford and this is where the leaked images were taken. Ford is also expected to unveil a new version of its Focus RS, although technical specifications of both these vehicles have been left undisclosed.

These vehicles should be available across showrooms fall 2015 while tests are currently being conducted. A slew of high end gadgets and technology are expected to find their way on both variants of the Focus although details should be put by the end of this year. On road tests prove that technical modifications are working and this vehicle is smoother on road as compared to its predecessor.

It is too early to comment on performance although we can only guess what we have coming. Interior details are also left to be disclosed. However, we have seen both three and five door variants of this vehicle being tested and hence this confirms Ford's plans of launching both variants at the same time. This is also the most controversial design from Ford so far as this vehicle does not look good from any direction, or so many people claim.

Ford has a lot of distance to cover with this vehicle and we could also see a last minute change of exterior design on this vehicle, although this is just a rumor for now. Even though this vehicle has been tested on road for close to a year now, this is the first time we have spotted this car, so close to its production version. Ford has tried to give its new Focus a premium look although it has not been very successful so far.

The two black inserts on the grille have been removed and this gives this vehicle a new appeal. However, a trapezoidal insert finds its way into the grille in place of the triangular insert. Ford will be using new engine options on the latest lineup and we will keep you posted on every new development on this issue.
